Question for discussion - Should Cruz Drop Out?
3/16/16 | Self (vanity question to Freepers)

Posted on 03/16/2016 12:25:38 PM PDT by ifinnegan

Should Cruz drop out?

I want to throw that question out in a thread for discussion.

I say yes.

Yes because the RNC strategy is to run out the clock and hit the convention without a winner.

They think splitting the vote is their best strategy to dilute Trump's delegate count over the rest of the primary.

I say let the RNC really have it their way and make the rest of the primaries be a referendum on Trump or the RNC.

Their man Kasich vs Trump, one on one.

No one can say that is not fair and clear.

The biggest plus is a Trump/Cruz ticket would immediately secure the nomination for us and would ensure the Republican party is finally with we the people (tea party, conservatives, religious people, economic conservatives, business people, middle class, blue collar, national security patriots, etc, ie, a rebirth of the Reagan Coalition) and against the globalist GOP big government establishment. It’d be a yuuuge middle finger to the elite ruling classes of both parties.

And it would have coattails guaranteeing a pro-America landslide against the America-hating Marxists and a strengthening of the Republican majority in the congress and in local and state governments. And begin a return to constitutional, pro-America, pro-free-market government and a reversal of the slide into godless socialism.

A mandate from we the people to secure the borders, enforce the law, deport the illegals, end sanctuary cities, end the war on Christianity, cut the taxes, cut the government, cut the regulations, end the war on American industry, end the war on coal gas & oil, bring back a growing economy, bring back manufacturing and jobs, and rebuild the military.

Unlike the GOPe, this is what real Americans want and what both candidates propose doing.

So let’s quit bickering, join forces and make it happen.

3. Have lived in the United States for at least 14 years to be president. The first requirement has never been legally defined, but rather argued quite a bit. This needs to be legally defined!

I agree, this needs to be legally defined. I had hoped Cruz would volunteer his documents to clear up this matter. Instead, he seals his records which makes me very suspicious. If he hasn't any problem, it would have been to his benefit to clear up this issue once and for all.

Being a lawyer and being able to win a case from either side, doesn't make one "principled" nor does it make one a "leader", knowledgeable, capable of being a good president.

And dragging an out of context, cherry-picked, SEXUAL INNUENDO into this, just makes YOU look like the pervert and more than foolish.

of course not

Cruz and trump are now in control of the convention

Cruz will continue and garner as many delegates as he can that combined with the Trump delegates provide absolute control

Trump will politely ask Cruz what he wants and it will be provided. together they control the new party

JUST GIVE IT UP!

As a VEEP, Cruz is less than worthless to Trump; he is major disaster for Trump!

So a Constitutional illiterate who has unequivocally stated that he will violate the US Constitution is preferable to you than a candidate that has actually defended the US Constitution before the US Supreme Court....

“Didn/t tell Texans he was planning to run for president, did he?”

As a Texan who helped get Cruz elected to the Senate over GOPe Dewhurst who was trying hard to get Kay Bailey Hutchison’s seat, we are glad to support Cruz for president, too.

I don’t think that will happen. Cruz doesn’t want to change the way anything in Washington works, he just wants to be in control of it all for the mere sake of being on top. He’s done nothing as a Senator except use his position as a springboard to run for President, because becoming President isn’t a means to an end for him, it is the end itself.

I don’t think Ted Cruz has it within himself to accept the position of VP. He wants the top job.

You can’t get more liberal establishment RINO than Kasich...amnesty, same-sex marriaage, Obamacare, he loves it all. Trump would lose all credibility with conservatives if he picked him.

I don’t trust Cruz. I voted for him when he was running for the senate against Dewhurst. He’s proven to me that he is an arrogant twit. He can talk a good story and he does read well, but when working for us as he said he would, he’s be absent from the job. He really does a good job talking, but I think that’s all he does.

you overlook the reality that politics is the art of the possible

at this point, this year, president cruz is no longer possible and totally improbable

I think Cruz would accept V.P. He’s young. What’s the harm? It makes it much more likely he’ll eventually be President.

Cruz can’t make the government conservative as one Senator. He can as President to a large extent. Why wouldn’t he or his supporters want him to be President ASAP? This isn’t the GOPe “wait your turn” system we operate under.

So a Constitutional illiterate

Referring to Cruz? Interesting claim. He did side with Hillary and the BLM against Trump and the 1st amendment, so I guess you have a point.

Either that or get together with Trump. It is the only way to destroy the RNC and the DC political class

Cruz is like the nerdy kid who entertains the populars at at a few parties and now thinks they like him

They don’t like you, Ted

You are a tool to them

Make it up with Trump and join the GOP ticket (means stop saying and doing unethical things like blaming trump for moveonorg), or keep showing up at parties as a B or C lister, take your chances with the populars who have already picked their ticket

Cruz doesn’t want to change Washington? ARE YOU FREAKIN’ NUTS?! Something has seriously detached you from reality if you think that.

I don’t think so. He has a legitimate though unlikely, shot at winning the nomination. But I do wish he and Trump would call a truce. Maybe if things between them calm down a bit they can come up with a strategy to beat back the GOPe.
