Is there a link to Trump's actual words? The article I read this morning used the word could not would happen. I think that is also important for clarity.
He said "I think bad things would happen." First, it is not advocation of "bad things", but rather a prediction. More importantly, the original poster said that this was if Trump did not get his way. But Trump was talking about a scenario in which the voter's choice is denied the nomination. The difference between these two is the difference between the act of a petulant child ("bad things will happen if I don't get my way"), and a vigorous and righteous defense of the principles of representative democracy ("I believe bad things will happen if the GOPe steals the election from the voters"). Naturally, the Cruz supporters, lacking in intellectual honesty or ethics, will misconstrue what Trump said to change it from a righteous defense of this countries' democracy, into a statement of petulance.

Yes I just watched the video, he did say would...headline says could. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ztDSYFfalss
I agree with him that if voters are ignored at the convention it will turn out bad. Many have no idea at the anger at politicians that have not been listening to the voters for some time. Of course people will twist his words, that is what they do.

First, I wouldn't paint all Cruz supporters with the same brush. No doubt there's a subset whose TDS drives them to insanity.
