Why a Clinton-Warren Ticket Just Might Work
The Fiscal Times ^ | March 14, 2016 | Damon Linker

And by making the announcement now, long before the Democratic convention, Clinton would manage not only to dominate the news for several days, but also (and more importantly) begin the process of unifying her party and preparing it to fight the Republican ranters and bomb-throwers in the fall.

Then there's gender. By putting together an all-female ticket, Clinton would contribute to consolidating the image of the Democrats as an inclusive, forward-looking party. This year, in particular, the contrast with the angry pessimism and locker-room vulgarity of the Republicans would be especially vivid.

Pretty darned risky.

My take on Warren’s re-emergence is that she’s positioning herself to pick up the pieces if Hillary fails.

Joe of course seems to be the favorite there, but I think Lizzy likes the idea of becoming president with just a couple of months of campaigning.

Or, perhaps more likely, is that she’s positioning herself to ride shotgun with Joe if Hill fails. Gotta flash a little of the veep fighter cred to get the nod.

Desperation setting in. Clinton in freefall, what to do? Put another left wing female on the ticket! One that can't even deliver a swing state. Great idea. Hope Hillbeast is listening.

Warren is their most logical candidate given the current Populist mood of the country. She’d give Trump a much stiffer contest than Hillary, that’s for sure.

Wow! TWO ranting leftwing harridans on the ticket, wagging their scolding fingers at Fascist Amerika! An unbeatable combination.

And why not? “Buy one, get one free” has worked for Hillary before.

I can dig it!

;^)

Men will be voting against not one ex mother in law but two ex mothers in law.

There is no way they put Warren on the ticket. It would make Hillary look even more low energy than she already is. She’d completely be overshadowed by the VP pick. Bad optics.

Warren would out-shine her. She will pick a boob like Biden.

No way. It will be a Hispanic or a black from a swing state.

Yes, she’d be stronger than Hill. But would she be stronger than Joe?

I really don’t know. She’s pretty far left, which isn’t necessarily advantageous in the general election.

The country has moved pretty far left. Two terms of Obama confirm that fact. She'd energize them and turn them out. Hillary puts 'em to sleep while Trump has his voters crawling over broken glass to vote for him.

yeah, i was just thinking about how the bomb-throwing Warren would be zipping all around the country leaving Hillary in the dust, so you raise an excellent point.

And even more interesting, who would they get who would NOT overshadow Hillary? Hillary doesn’t have the energy to speak in front of live groups more than once a week, and they have to be small groups at that, under 800 usually.

I wonder if they’d have to hamstring Hillary’s VP so she wouldn’t be overshadowed?

No, nothing with Clinton will work. Hillary is worthless.

How can having two women on the ticket show that the Democrats are more “inclusive”?

Oh, yeah, that’s right, men don’t count for anything any more in the left’s eyes.
