I got a buddy that lives down in the bayou. The swamp has been very swampy this year.
Lord God, protect Thy servants in the town of Herbert and other areas affected. Forgive us our sins, o Lord, and give courage to the people of Louisiana.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, amen.
Probably? Are you an idiot?!?
This is like the other day I was watching a pirated online of Fox News. All of a sudden an emergency broadcast came on saying North Korea had shot off a missile and would be hitting LA. I posted it and shortly some Freepers showed me it was a YouTube video that had been produced in 2011.
Dear God, please spare those in harm’s way.

Your article is old.
Thanks for the update. The levee did NOT break (yet?), but is being overtopped with one to two feet of water causing flooding and mandatory evacuation.
Prayers on the way. What’s the population in this area?
I do not know
Is it Herbert or Hebert? If Hebert, you should ask the mod to correct the title.
Thanks for the update.
I think the best part of your link is that you close the chosen article, and it says ‘Levee breached’ as the headline right underneath it.
“Is it Herbert or Hebert? If Hebert, you should ask the mod to correct the title”
Probably Hebert ( pronounced “A-Bear”)
Here is another link on this story. I saw on the news that some places in the south have gotten as much as 24 inches of water.
As if a dam break isn’t bad enough, now they have to evacuate 500 prisoners. All kinds of potential for trouble.
The people in this area have gone above and beyond to help their neighbors. Northern Louisianas are good people. I’ve been lucky enough to have a house on a hill and haven’t had to worry, but I’ve had family and friends in danger of losing their homes. Please keep them all in your prayers.
If it keeps on rainin', levee's gonna break.
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SHREVEPORT HAS ISSUED A
* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
NORTHEASTERN CALDWELL PARISH IN NORTH CENTRAL LOUISIANA...
* UNTIL 445 AM CDT MONDAY
* AT 840 PM CDT...LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT REPORTED THAT A DAM BREAK WAS REPORTED
ON THE BOEUF RIVER BORDERING CALDWELL AND RICHLAND PARISH. THIS WATER WAS FLOWING
RAPIDLY TOWARDS THE COMMUNITY OF HEBERT. THE HEBERT COMMUNITY NEEDS TO EVACUATE

* FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY FOR NORTHEAST CALDWELL PARISH NEAR THE COMMUNITY
OF HEBERT LOUISIANA
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND NOW! THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND LIFE
THREATENING SITUATION. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TRAVEL UNLESS YOU ARE
FLEEING AN AREA SUBJECT TO FLOODING OR UNDER AN EVACUATION ORDER.
BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODING.
STAY AWAY OR BE SWEPT AWAY. RIVER BANKS AND CULVERTS CAN BECOME
UNSTABLE AND UNSAFE.
This is the worst flood in ages around here. I’ve heard a lot of people who weren’t considered to be in flood zones and didn’t get flood insurance are watching their homes flood. The last time there was flooding on this scale was in the early 90’s, but I don’t think that even compared to what is happening now.
