In the contest for the Republican presidential nomination, Ohio Gov. John Kasich is 0 for everything a string of losses that has left him trailing front-runner Donald Trump and far back in fourth place in the delegate count. Can a victory in his home state on Tuesday change all that?
The irrepressible Kasich believes it can. I just had to be patient, he said aboard his campaign bus en route to Cleveland on Saturday evening. He added, I think [if] we win Tuesday, its a whole new ballgame. Victory over Trump, he said, would show that the emperor has no clothes.
When we beat him, Kasich said, the shield is broken.
-snip-
Trump noted Kasichs support for NAFTA and the Trans-Pacific Partnership and said, It is a disaster. Its going to ruin your car industry totally ruin it. Trump noted that a Ford facility close to the rally site was shutting down and moving its operations to Mexico.
He accused Kasich of being an absentee governor while running for president. Hes abandoned the state, Trump said. He lived in New Hampshire. He moved there. . . . He said he was going to win. I won in a landslide.

Mitt Kasich
Brokered convention.
Kasich doesn’t think he can get enough delegates to do squat. He’s 100% in the stop Trump camp and the is his part.
Kasich has the postal carrier vote sewed up.
Wow. I knew Romney was tone deaf but this is a ridiculous.
Your numbers look correct. I think it will depend on a couple of winner-take-all states like California to get Trump the number he needs or deny him the majority in the first vote. If those contests were held today he would win them easily and I don’t see anything that would change that.
Kaisich is done, stick a fork in him. I think he said “Let them all (illegals) stay” so that Republican voters vote him out of his misery and he doesn’t have to face down the GOPe.
Trump 2016!
“I think it will depend on a couple of winner-take-all states like California...”
For sure.
And keep in mind we done Cruz’s homestate/area but have not done Trump’s, NY, NJ, PA, CT etc.
For a “NY Liberal” he sure did well in the deep south.
Romney lost to Candy Crowley
It’s so obvious brokered convention is the plan. Kasich and Rubio don’t have a chance. I’m guessing GOPe internal polling shows if Kasich and Rubio drop out votes are split between Cruz and Trump....and Trump wins the nomination. That is probably what the big meeting was about with Jeb. Everyone stay in, chip away at the delegates with the promise of a cabinet position/Supreme Court Justice. Anything to keep the gravy train in motion.
The republican party is going to stop Trump and they still believe we’ll vote for whoever “they” nominate. Well, I understand them believing it. We’ve done it since 1988.
As of now, Bing has Trump as the predicted winner for Florida, Illinois, Missouri, North Carolina and Ohio....Kasich may have given Trump a few extra percentage points by allowing Romney to go to bat for him in a State that went for Obama over him in the last General.
