Trump Storm Troopers Mob Sanders Rally: Force Cancellation
American Thinker ^ | 3/13/2016 | Clarice Feldman

Of course, this didn’t happen. The opposite is true, but you can be sure that would be the headline had conservative opponents of Sanders prevented his rally in suburban Chicago from taking place because of mob threats of violence. This makes Ted Cruz ‘s spineless rejoinder to the violent demonstrations in Chicago so galling to me.

"A campaign bears responsibility for creating an environment where the candidate urges supporters to engage in violence," Sen. Cruz said.

"But with any campaign responsibility starts at the top. Any candidate is responsible for the culture of the campaign. And when you have a campaign that disrespects the voters ..."

Doesn't sound like blobviating to me. What is sounds like is Cruz selling out for to occupy crowd to score political points. Why shouldn't he sell out. It appears that he already sold out to the GOPe. UntrusTED.

You appear to be legitimately confused. The actual comments were posted here numerous times, and discussed ad-nauseum.

Cruz did not blame Trump.

Again, already posted (you're welcome)

What Cruz Said:
"We need to learn to have disagreements without being disagreeable. To have disagreements while respecting human beings on the other side. Earlier today over thirty people were arrested at one rally. And then tonight, as violence broke out, the rally was canceled all together. Now, the responsibility for that lies with protesters who took violence into their own hands."

Which seems pretty clear to me to put the blame on "the Protesters". And we all would have preferred that he bear down a bit harder on that, but saying that he "blamed Trump", when his own words said "responsibilities lie with the protesters" is pretty much the opposite of what you said.

I imagine what you're taking issue with is what he said next:

"But in any campaign responsibility starts at the top. Any candidate who is responsible for the culture of the campaign. And when you have a campaign that disrespects the voters, when you have a campaign that affirmatively encourages violence, when you have a campaign that is facing allegations of physical violence against members of the press, you create an environment that only encourages this sort of nasty discourse."

All of which is indisputably true: Trump HAS called for violence at his events (even if in jest), and HAS offered to pay the legal fees of his supporters for doing so. That's on the record. Can't be disputed.

What I've seen this weekend, is Trump supporters latching on to the last phrase "nasty discourse". Obviously Cruz had moved on from the actual violence of the protesters, which, by the way he had specifically condemned and laid at the protesters (not Trump's) feet.

But wait, there's more:

From a statement given by Cruz to Hugh Hewitt:

"... there's no doubt that a candidate bears responsibility for the culture that is set from the top. And you know, my approach ... listen, it comes from how you view the voters. You know, Donald demands of the voters that they stand up and pledge their allegiance to him, pledge that they wold vote for him. As I mentioned last night, I think that gets it exactly backwards. This is a job interview. You know, kings and queens demand of their subjects that they pledge allegiance to them, but in America, we don't pledge allegiance to men. We pledge allegiance to the flag. we pledge allegiance to the Constitution. But we don't pledge allegiance to men. and this is very much .. each of us should be asking to work for 330 million Americans. And what I am doing is pledging my allegiance to you. And part of that is reflected on how you approach protesters, because if you are the monarch from on high, then protester is disloyal and needs to be cast out and punished.

Again, Cruz was clearly referring to the protesters at previous Trump events who were roughly evicted. Things have always tended to get heated at FR during a primary, and that's a good sign. This time around, though, support has jelled behind a charismatic populist, with many liberal positions in the past, and at the same time a solid, documented conservative is vilified. Not a positive development in my mind.

At this point.... I don’t honestly think they are “confused”. I think they are deliberately lying in order to destroy Cruz. And I think they are following an agenda. An agenda that has already divided us. Only question is, will it succeed in conquering us. My guess is...yes.

Clarice said her piece, alright, but at the same time she gave loft to every tyrannical argument against TRUMP out there on display, over the course of the last 72 hours.

I liked her “White Toga” caricature of prissy Cruz and the GOPE media types, all harrumphing against TRUMP, fomenting against him producing only a token rebuke in the form of a mild scold against the fascists causing the uproar.

Thank goodness for “closed caption”. I can’t watch the media pile on without it. Better for me to read their lines as they speak than actually hear their tone and their over the top relish for some promised demise of TRUMP.

Probably right.

They are certainly not going to let facts get in the way.

Weird season, this.

Trump supporters crashing a Bernie Sanders rally could very well happen soon: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3490195/Trump-threatens-send-supporters-wreak-havoc-Bernie-Sanders-event-blames-communist-Democrat-violence-shut-Chicago-rally.html?ito=social-twitter_dailymailus#ixzz42nNFLF6Y

Send a memo to Hugh Blewitt and tell him he’d have a better luck juggling flaming chainsaws while riding a unicycle than attempting to change Mr. Cruz’s own comments.

Don't forget---one of Cruz's most famous endorsers, Glenn Beck, said on radio that if he were on stage with Trump he'd stab Trump and he wouldn't stop stabbing.

But that gets a pass.

I think they are deliberately lying in order to destroy Cruz.

Mr. Cruz publicly destroyed himself. No one helped him, he did it all by himself.

By telling the absolute truth? If that gets you destroyed in this current bizarro world we're now living in, then apparently I am doomed for destruction too. So be it. I won't change my values or character just to 'go along to get along and survive' the rampant idiocy ongoing here.

Trump is fostering an environment of violence and fear.

Only Cruz stands up for individual liberty on this topic.

Not only a weird season.... but probably the last one we will ever see (fitting, somehow). Chaos and crass rules in Amerika now. As proven by Donald Trump.

Just saw a video on Fox of a montage of Donald’s appearances... where every one had to have words bleeped out where he used profanity. Real statesmen like Ronald Reagan are no doubt roiling in their graves at the thought of someone that crude even standing a chance at the presidency....much less winning it.

“it certainly appears that the GOP and MSM may be driving thinking people into the Trump camp.”

Cruz is doing a pretty good job of that by himself.

Just to update you on the facts if that's of any interest to you ...

"The Daily Caller accidentally ran an incorrect take regarding Glenn Beck‘s Friday radio show, and other media outlets — including Mediaite — shortly followed suit.

The conservative radio host — and fervent Ted Cruz supporter — was mistakenly thought to have revealed on his show Friday what he would have done if he were on stage at Thursday night’s Republican debate in Detroit: stab Donald Trump.

The Daily Caller reported that Beck described the situation of standing next to the GOP frontrunner with his weapon of choice at the Fox Theatre, telling his listeners with a laugh, “If I was close enough and had a knife, really… the stabbing just wouldn’t stop.” However, Stu Burguiere, the head writer of The Glenn Beck Program, took to Twitter to clarify that the comments were aimed at him, not Trump, once media outlets began to ran with the unclear distinction."
