One day after well-organized protesters led Donald Trump to cancel a campaign rally before it even started, the Republican presidential front-runner coldly rejected calls on Saturday to temper the tone of his events. He called such protesters a "disgrace" and blamed them for fueling violent confrontations at his rallies.
The intensity of the hostility Trump faces among those opposed to his candidacy was underscored Saturday morning in Ohio. Secret Service agents briefly rushed the stage to form a protective circle around Trump after a man leapt over a barricade and charged toward the billionaire businessman.
The man, later identified by authorities as Thomas Dimassimo of Fairborn, Ohio, was able to physically touch the stage before he was tackled by security officials. He was later charged with disorderly conduct and inducing panic.
Trump's rallies in recent weeks have been marked by frequent clashes between his supporters and protesters, many of whom are young African-Americans and Latinos. Earlier this week, video footage captured a white man punching an African-American protester as police led him out of a North Carolina rally.
On Saturday, Trump's rivals for the Republican nomination harshly criticized Trump for what had been taking place at his events.
Ohio Gov. John Kasich said Trump had "created a toxic environment" that "has allowed his supporters and those who sometimes seek confrontation to come together in violence." Marco Rubio accused Trump of "dividing both the party and the country so bitterly" that the Florida senator said he may not be able to support Trump if he becomes the GOP nominee.
But Trump on Saturday rejected the suggestion that he or his supporters were to blame, instead laying responsibility at the feet of protesters he panned as "a disgrace."

Is altura an old fart?
Heck I don’t know. All I know is his/her thoughts need the dust blown off of them and they have that old person smell on them.
(Not that I am young, just young in mind and heart and deed)
It will be purged in a few weeks....count on it...It better enjoy its stay for the moment.
Ah, always the "but". So following your logic, those young girls that have been assaulted in Europe while at the swimming pool must "bear some responsibility" because after all they are outside of the house and not fully covered, right?
Do you really think that leftist protesters won't disrupt any other conservative's campaign events? Trump and his supporters don't go out and start trouble, but they have the unfortunate problem that leftists and Sanders supporters constantly attempt to disrupt the Trump rallies.
Those same protesters will turn on Cruz, or Rubio, or even Kasich if they get the chance. But right now they are concentrating on the biggest threat to their ideology. Why Cruz, Rubio, Kasich and people like you are supporting them is beyond me.
Trump is not the equivalent of young German girls minding their own business and going to the swimming pool. Here's a better analogy:
There are "femen" protesters in Europe who provocatively bare their breasts and shake them at politicians, bishops, etc. while screaming obscenities. They are obviously the fringe, and they deserve to get their rotten selves arrested. They are getting over the top, though, because your average feminist has gotten pretty far out there with her insults and attacks on normal men (and women), so they have to be extremely outrageous to get any attention.
I think some of that same dynamic is going on here. The temperature has been turned up.
And please note that I am not, repeat not "supporting" the BLM/moveon thugs because I believe that some of Trump's words and actions have facilitated or encouraged more extreme behavior. It is possible to note problems with a person's conduct without being his enemy or supporting his enemies.
It would be nice if you could make that distinction with respect to others as well.
Three years of college-level Classical Greek and two of Latin, and I had to go look that one up. :-)
I think it is the latter. Note how the stories all talk about violence between Trump supporters and protesters. But when you look at the pictures you see law enforcement officers or Secret Service agents fighting with protesters. How can Trump be blamed for a bunch of protesters fighting with the Chicago police when the rally was cancelled and Trump wasn't even there?
And by the way, Femen protesters intentionally violate norms of society and disrupt events in order to bring attention to an issue. They are far more like the protesters crashing Trump rallies than they are like the Trump supporters and Trump himself who are just trying to have a political rally. And the Femen protesters expect the response they get, and they aren't the victims, they are the perpetrators.
I am missing info on just what Trump said that supposedly caused all these hate filled, wind up leftist rent a mobs to activate. The mobs are manipulative thugs trying to stop anyone that disagrees with the leftist agenda with the use of violence. I hope Trump stands and doesn’t fold up like so many other chicken hearted GOPe types.
LOL!!!
It was the word of the day last week!!
I ‘glummed’ on to it. Don’t think that one is in the dictionary! :) Just ‘old Texas talk’!
I lost the other one (word of the day)! LOL!!
Take care.........pilgrim
LOL
But ordinary feminists have paved the way for the "femens" by being rude, crude and uncouth in their behavior. Just as Trump has normalized insults and verbally encouraged uncouth behavior and physical contact. Such as "I'd like to punch him in the face, I'll tell you that" . . . and the Trump supporter then punching a protester in the face.
The radicals - from their point of view - are simply responding in kind. They have gone over the top into conspiring to disrupt a private event, not to mention the violence that Dimassimo apparently had on his mind. And merely setting a tone in no way justifies that criminal conduct. But it is still setting a tone.
OK, I see your point. But sadly I think we’ll see the same kind of disruption and protests regardless of the style of the Republican candidate. The same kind of leftists who disrupt the Trump rallies have thought nothing of disrupting Catholic Masses and similar events where there is certainly nothing in the tone of the participants that could even remotely justify the leftists actions.
And, since our earlier discussion, so much has come out about how these "protesters" were actually organized by moveon and BLM and funded by Soros, and about some of their plans to have an organized rush on the stage and overpower Trump, and the fellow who actually tried it who is a leftist loon with ties to radical Islam . . .
Let's just say I've changed my mind, and it isn't so much a provocation as an excuse for the bad guys to riot.
Your post was about Donald Trump being like the Great Pretender in the White House. Did I miss something. I don’t see where it includes any such comparison as you describe.
