Exactly the same point I have been trying to make.
I have read and listened to longtime Conservatives with longtime records of unwavering principles get savaged, ridiculed and treated worse by other so-called Conservatives than I have ever seen directed at Leftists. It is clear that the majority in the country want a king or dictator. The Leftists have theirs, the Populists want theirs and in such a poisoned state, we are ripe for a bloodbath from within.
Slaughters happen in this same exact political environment this disintegrating nation finds itself. Harsh and brutal Dictatorships have always arisen in such an environment, when the chaos and bloodletting finally cause everyone to choose whomever is the perceived strongman.
Liberty will not survive, nor indeed can exist in any capacity in such an environment. Notwithstanding the fact we cannot even agree on what the definition of liberty even is nowadays.
There is no leader or group of leaders that can destroy this country. Only the PEOPLE can destroy this country. And that’s what scares me, when I see how ready EVERYBODY seems to be, to burn at the stake anybody who doesn’t fanatically believe/trust their particular god - er, candidate. Those culture warriors who would never have accepted the post-modern idea that “we all make our own truth” are espousing that very thing.
I fear there is nothing that can stop the death of America. It seems like we’re a chicken whose head has been chopped off and the electrical fire in the blood is convulsing us uncontrollably.
I think I need to just get away from here. It’s too crazy. If we’re gonna be destroyed it would be better to spend the last days with my family, doing what I can to provide relief for them when things get really, really bad, ‘cause I think that’s where this is all headed.
