Friday, March 11, 2016: GOP Presidential candidate Donald Trump will hold a campaign rally in Chicago, IL at the University of Illinois-Chicago Pavillion. The event is scheduled to begin at 6:00 PM CST.
University of Illinois-Chicago Pavillion.
It’s a beautiful funeral. Except the eulogies by Patti and Ron were snarky and weird. To be expected.
We had a friend (now deceased) who suffered like this for years. The tests repeatedly showed nothing wrong. He kept telling the docs that it was a stone in the gall bladder, and they kept telling him the tests show there are NO stones.
Finally, he was so weak, he said, “Well, you just go on in there and see what you find, I guarantee you it’s a g.b. stone”.
They did the surgery and found a huge g.b. stone in a portion of the g.b. tubing or entrance, or whatever, can’t remember now, but it is the one place that their machines can’t capture, for some reason. Anyway, they took out the stone and all his symptoms vanished.
For whatever it’s worth...........
“The brain-dead never-Trump votes.” I love it. That’s what I see also.
Many people go by easy images instead of substance. Fortunately, that’s also true of the ones who are never-Cruz votes, in his case because he’s “conservative.” They pick the candidate who superficially endorses their image of themselves so they don’t have to do any reading or other hard work and thus be obliged to defend their choice.
Never Trump, never Cruz, so Rubio gets the leftovers. Shallow waters.
I don’t know how big a job Surgeon General would be. why not our ambassador to the UN?
I agree with you. It was a beautiful ceremony honoring the life of Nancy Reagan and her immense love of Ronald Reagan. It was disappointing her children chose this time to be less than honorable to their mother.
I think Carson would be best in Education in some large role. It isn’t advertised much, but he and his wife set up and manage an impressive scholarship foundation. They’re hugely involved in that.
Those kids (Reagan’s) will never know the heartache they must have been to their parents. Shame on them.
I’m clueless as to a ground game, although I know Trump said he wouldn’t have his general’s going on television and telling the world about their plans, so maybe there’s a robust effort underway that we don’t know about. Also, no word on the amount of new voter registrants signing up with the GOP.
The last poll I remember seeing had Kasich up by about 5 points. He also has a 69% approval rating. 24% of identified Kasich voters may change their vote, and 19% of identified Trump voters may change their vote. Trump could close the gap with this percentile discrepancy. Data could be wrong. Might be a last minute surge. Kasich has no chance to amass 1,237 delegates by the time the Convention convenes, so perhaps many will see their vote as a waste, and place their vote where it would matter most, with the most viable candidate- that being Trump, or by preference Cruz.
I’m leaning Trump by +5, with independents, crossovers, and the party faithful that stayed away in 2012, pushing the pendulum his way. Maybe the endorsement of a couple of Ohio linked superstars of some sort add an element of momentum to the Trump Train.
I think you’ve totally lost me...lol
I didn't watch at all, didn't even read the live thread. I would have if I had known it was going to be civil. I was just sick of it all, the cheering, the booing, the fighting.
I don’t think you missed anything. Protesters out of the way, he gave his standard speech.
There was one straggler protester at the end who he castigated for interrupting his ending.
Really think it would have been a great rally to attend. The crowd had a blast!
the last time during REagan’s funeral, the idiot son railed against Bush for not allowing unlimited embryonic stem cell research. Turns out that adult stem cells have yielded the medical break thrus not the embryonic.
I the grand plan should be to dissolve all these worthless departments. In fact, question every single department necessity.
Yes, it was. I missed the first part due to the Trump rally. I suspect it will be on again on CSPAN this weekend.
I was wondering why Michael wasn’t there and did a search on bing.com. Apparently, he and his wife are traveling in Asia, but his 2 children will be there.
I didn’t watch all at the internment site, but I noticed that as they were walking out of the ceremony, Patti stopped and chatted with Michelle. GW was seated next to her then Laura then Rosalin Carter. At the site, Moochelle chatted with Patti for quite a little while and I think Rosalin a bit. Never did see GW and Laura there. I suspect that President and Mrs. Reagan are rolling over and can’t believe how rude their kids were to a former President and his wife. Please note that I’m only saying what I saw - they may have acknowledged them in another way, but I didn’t see it. Too bad these two dumb@ss Dim kids aren’t as gracious as their parents.
Oh, and BTW - at least GW and Laura made the effort - Obummer is speaking at some stupid film festival or something in Texas.
He could do much as surgeon general I would think.
We need to get OUT of the UN - not put the best of our best there IMHO
I switched from Fox to MSNBC (can’t believe I’m saying that!) b/c Shep was on and didn’t want to hear him.
Lovely service for the most part. I guess Jim Baker and Tom Brokaw also gave eulogies - will try to catch those later or tomorrow (possibly CSPAN). It’s cool that Mr. T (not Trump - original one) attended.
MSNBC still carrying coverage of Nancy.
One thing I noticed, during the Our Father, Patti was saying it but Ron Jr wasn’t - but then he’s been a jerk for a long time.
Agree.
And go back to baseline or zero based budgeting like many companies do.
Now watching the St. Louis rally, I see that the crowd didn’t know who Schlafly was. Very sad. Of course they had been waiting a long time and were disappointed that it wasn’t Trump walking out onto the stage.
She saved us from the ERA, all you whippersnappers out there. And as she mentioned, has been heavily involved in keeping the GOP platform conservative. Thank the National Republican Coalition for Life every time you say your thank-you prayers.
They also didn’t know she was from St. Louis, so that saved the day. Beautiful Mrs. Schlafly!
