The Department of Justice slammed Apple for "false" and "corrosive" rhetoric in a new document released Thursday.

The document is the DOJ's legal response to Apple's refusal to comply to the United States District Court in California, which ordered Apple to assist the FBI.

The FBI will face off against Apple at a March 22 hearing in Riverside, Calif.

The original court order “does not compel it to unlock other iPhones or to give the government a universal ‘master key’ or ‘back door.’ It is a narrow, targeted order that will produce a narrow, targeted piece of software capable of running on just one iPhone, in the security of Apple’s corporate headquarters.”

Hmmmmmm. Sounds like the Appleheads just don’t want to comply. Why don’t they just say so instead of all the hysterical wailing and gnashing of teeth?

“It might be they will somehow get hold of it.” Is not an answer. They maintain control over it. If that were true, it might get out anyhow, is that saying Apple is afraid of Apple? Cue the shareholders! Get the townspeople to turn out with their pitchforks and torches! Preserve our overpriced crap so that we can be even richer!

Break the goddam phone open and let’s see if there’s any useful information on it for crissakes. It was used by a mass murdering ISIS thug. Are we at war with these thugs or just not so much with our sky high socks at risk???

The camel’s nose, FRiend. If they can force it ONCE, there is absolutely nothing stopping them from making it mandatory.

“This far and NO FURTHER!”

Don’t be a bootlick. The government already has every bit of metadata. They know exactly who he called, and everywhere it went.
And -this same- government, so desperate to get into everyone’s Iphone, said it didn’t look at the female terrorist’s facebook page “out of respect for her privacy”.

And no, it isn’t just one Iphone. The feds already stated that they intended it to set a precedent. And also, Apple is being requested by the FBI to give them a tool to defeat a 2 major security features. It cannot be in any way assured that it is for one phone. They want apple to defeat the number of attempt limiter, and then they want apple to make it possible to enter codes from a laptop and not from the keyboard.

All your emotions aside, this is nothing less than a security state BS whine. They want access to ALL communications, period.
They already have another 160 phones lined up they want to do this to. Dope, regular crime, etc.

“Are we at war with these thugs or just not so much with our sky high socks at risk???”

No, not really. This same FBI deliberately scrubbed all of its training materials of anything pointing at Islam. This same government has let in about 1.6 million of them since 9/11 and wants another 300k.
The first lady went to visit the Saudi who paid for the Boston bomb, but none of the victims.
And now we are openly giving supplies to Al Qeida.

So no, despite your histrionics, no, we must not be at war with them.

I’ll donate a “slightly used” outhouse! With what little $hit he has, it’ll do just fine. Put it out in Hawaii so he won’t be able to stink up the whole country.

That’s not possible and the Feds know it.

If it can run on one iPhone it can run on any iPhone.

Perhaps you missed the reports of the FBI and other law enforcement agencies admitting they had a bunch of other phones they want Apple to open once they get the court to order Apple to create a way to open this one?

That’s a relief. I thought that was a big deal, ISIS. It’s been in all the news too. Thanks, pal, I feel much better knowing that the FR has surrendered. Sleep tite, Bud.

The FBI is not interested in security. This is a Fast and Furious job on free speech.

The heads let the jihadists in through illegal immigration and PC in, and then blame our phones and speeches for it.

They did it in the war on drugs, on guns and now on i phones.

I was talking about collecting as much evidence as possible on ISIS.

Tell me again how many have you caught?

“The FBI is not interested in security.”

No, their interest in this case is trying to see if the escaping murderers may have used the phone and left something behind. They want to kill more ISIS thugs. Guess it wasn’t all that important...never mind, I thought we cared about doing our bit (no pun intended) that’s all.
