PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Nearly 46,000 Pennsylvania Democrats have switched to Republicans since the beginning of the year.

According to Penn Live, some experts attribute the mass exodus to Donald Trump.

There’s even a title for the movement. It’s called “Ditch and Switch” and calls for lifelong Democrats to abandon the party, register Republican, and help ensure Trump’s place in the general election.

Coal Miners Union In Full Revolt After Supporting Obama In 2008

by MICHAEL BASTASCH 2:45 PM 08/02/2014

Excerpt:

It’s unlikely that United Mine Workers of America president Cecil Roberts thought he would be arrested protesting the energy policies of the very politician his union supported in 2008. But things have come full circle for coal miners, who now see President Obama’s climate agenda threatening their livelihoods.

Roberts and other UMWA members were arrested Thursday marching through Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, towards the federal building where the Environmental Protection Agency was holding field hearings for a new rule that could very well force more coal mines and plants to shut down.

Roberts was leading about 5,000 coal miners, their families and supporters to show the EPA that coal miners, boilermakers, electric workers and other unions did not support the Obama administration’s new regulations limiting carbon dioxide emissions from coal-fired power plants.

“This was an expression by the leadership of the union and the solidarity for our members when our jobs are on the line … it’s what it’s all about,” Roberts said while being arrested.

Sickening, Jim. Pat them on the back and then knife them when you find a soft spot.

It helps because you have to fight for every last vote instead of armchair quarterbacking.

If they vote republican in the primary are they denied voting democrat in the general?

Only one ballot in the General Election and that is (supposedly) secret. No way to stop crossover voters in the General.

Plus, people can legitimately change their minds. A lot can happen between now and November.

Years ago when I lived in Camden County, NJ, I reregistered from my lifelong membership as a Republican into the Democrat party so I could vote in the ‘rat primary that year - I wanted to vote for our local Assemblyman Jim Florio for the governorship election in the fall, because I figured Florio would be the easiest ‘rat for the Republicans to defeat in the election - Florio got the nomination and ended up winning in the fall, although he was defeated the next time he faced election four years later - just sayin’......
