PITTSBURGH (KDKA) Nearly 46,000 Pennsylvania Democrats have switched to Republicans since the beginning of the year.
According to Penn Live, some experts attribute the mass exodus to Donald Trump.
Theres even a title for the movement. Its called Ditch and Switch and calls for lifelong Democrats to abandon the party, register Republican, and help ensure Trumps place in the general election.
Professor of Public Affairs at Franklin and Marshall College, Dr. G. Terry Madonna, tells the paper he has a theory behind the switch.
With the increase in support in exit polls for Trump among working class, blue-collar Democrats, it is my belief that these are people who fall into that genre, said Madonna.
The numbers are similar in other states as well.

In 2012, we had a 300K vote deficit in PA
Or it could simply be that moderate democrats see Trump as a moderate democrat.
Yeah, yeah, just like the Democrats who switched to support Reagan! That’s the ticket!
Yeah. Swell guy there. Can you help me reach that knife, my arms won’t go that far behind me.
Ok. It’s 54% as it stands now. 60% is what Cruz needs. If Drumpf wins Florida and loses Ohio, which is probably what happens if Rubio stays in, Drumpf will need 51%. That simply will not happen. Drumpf is out of open primaries and Rubio and Kasich will either suspend or be shown as completely nonviable. The probability of a contested convention is going way up and the only thing that’s likely to change that is Rubio or Kasich dropping out which would put Cruz over the 60% needed. Drumpf’s support is where it is.
Anecdotally, it appears that the extra 100,000 or so Republican voters in the MA primary were divided between Kasich and Trump. I know some Democrats, who can’t stomach Hillary and are not confident in Sanders, that switched parties to vote for Kasich. I suspect that they will sit out the general election if Kasich is not on the ballot and, just guessing, many of the independent and new voters that voted from Trump in the primary will sit out the general if Trump’s not on the ballot.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A bunch of Einsteins, huh?

“Exactly. It wont happen though. Drumpf needs 60% of...”

Didn’t read the rest of your post, which was certainly more childish gibberish.
FR needs to start shaming the children posting here.
yes
Dear GOPe:
Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.
Hillary won’t be in the race in November. She lost the FBI primary.
I’m not really sure what you mean or how you define ‘good.’ What do you suppose my intent is? I really have no desire to nor delusions of changing the minds of the Trumprepublic echo-chamber.
Their other choice is Freebie or The Screech.
Both of those are trying to out-do each other with their promises of free stuff.
That should be fodder for RNC commercials — there is no free ride — someone ends up getting the bill.
Thank you. I am flummoxed as to why anyone would think this is NOT a good development.
I know D's who are registered with that party for reasons of family tradition, misguided youthful registration, job pressure, etc. These people are not philosophically aligned with the D's, they just ended up with them.
My own grandfather was a local D Party bigwig back (way back) in the day. It took decades for the bulk of family to switch registrations, and those people had nothing in common with George McGovern or Paul Dukakis or Barrack Obama.
“Yes, Ted Cruz is a proud Harvard Man. I am mere dirt. Which is why I left the Republican Party one year ago.”
We’re so lucky we’re even allowed to type his name! His super-superior followers will be along any minute to stick their snotty noses in the air and remind us how much smarter THEY are than anyone else. It’s how they win votes you know. They think it works.
Actually Trump is on schedule, delegate wise, to win the nomination.

you mean they went to CRUZ... see, I mean, Cruz is the only one who can bring in crossovers... see... he’s the only one that can beat Hillary, that’s why the dems all want to see Cruz win the primary because they enjoy a FAIR FIGHT!
Trump would be too easy to beat. pffff
Hillary would not want that, she likes mountains to climb, just like the Hillary she was named after. This woman has taken SNIPER FIRE IN BOSNIA, you think she wants to piddle around with Trump?
She wants to fight the Big Kahuna Cruz who is going to bring in so many blacks and latinos and blue collar workers to the GOP!
Go away Trump.... nothing to see here...
btw /s
The problem is Philly. Thats where the numbers are.

But, the Black vote will be, AT LEAST, 15% less in Philly this year. They will not turn out for Hillary like they did for Obozo. This year, they will not empty out the jailhouses, crack houses and HO houses for an old, rich, White woman.
