Trump University Hired Motivational Speakers and a Felon as Faculty
Daily Beast ^ | March 6, 2016 | Olivia Nuzzi

Posted on 03/10/2016 5:49:50 AM PST by reaganaut1

In 2008, James Harris was hired to be an instructor with Trump University, the online school launched by reality TV star and real estate mogul Donald Trump three years earlier. Harris was a motivational speaker from Pompton Plains, New Jersey, with slicked-back hair and a shit-eating grin. There was an easy, energetic way about him—like Billy Mays having just returned from a Hamptons vacation—and his lectures, which relied on his alleged real life success story, could be captivating.

According to seminar transcripts filed in one class-action lawsuit against Trump University and reviewed by The Daily Beast, Harris told students that at 19, he found himself homeless and was forced to seek shelter in the grimy New York City subway. But his life changed, he said, when he met a “nice gentleman” who taught him about the real estate business. In no time, he said, he “became one of the top 12 producing brokers” in Manhattan. He no longer slept among vermin, but in a gated community in Buford, Georgia, with his wife and two sons.

The overwhelming percentage signed favorable scorecards.

This is nonsense. Can people sue colleges and universities, because they went there for an education and instead got an indoctrination?

“Cruz already lost. He’d have to win most of the remaining races to get enough delegates.”.....

Don’t forget, the GOP still has a say in who they want and may still change the rules if necessary to get their ideal candidate. If they do that I see Trump as a third party plus a HUGE lawsuit. Gonna be interesting.

According to Ted Cruz his net worth is 3.5 million.
That’s a fat cat from this peasant viewpoint.

Oh please. Trump started out of the gates as the ultimate outsider with his canned and calculated platitudes and cliches inhaling enough of the angry electorate to lead a pack of seventeen. The polls show that one on one Cruz pummels Trump. Trump has the highest negative ratings in the field. He’s hit his ceiling.

O.K. Fair enough.

You must really distrust fat cats who claim to be worth $10 billion.

Ummmm. ..does anyone or did anyone really think that a real estate investing seminar was a university akin to say University of Michigan or Harvard?

And this article approaches these seminars like gee...they should have been hiring professors since it's university.

Stupid attack that will wither.

“What is Cruz’s net worth?”

$3.5 million according to some published accounts. If you hold Cruz in disdain for that, how much more should you distrust Trump at $10 billion? And Trump’s income includes money from Red China sweat shops, defrauded students, and strip clubs.

You must be so proud.

” The polls show that one on one Cruz pummels Trump.”

The polls dont show support for Cruz.

They support “not Trump”. You guys just pretend like they want him, and hope that their hate for Trump is strong enough to have them come out and vote for a guy they otherwise couldn’t care less about.

He is a tool to serve a purpose. Nothing but a leashed dog for the GOPe and the left.

you are 100% correct

I LIKE Cruz and am glad he is in the Senate... but he will NOT withstand the attacks on him the way Trump will

I once had a Trump Steak at the Nothing Burger Cafe. Before it folded.

Trump hired Cruz as an instructor at Trump U? Wow, and I thought Cruz never held a real job before. I take it back.

“A Cruz vs. Clinton election will be about conservatism vs. socialism.”

Only in the minds of the deluded.

This campaign has always been a choice between Hillary, Hillary-Lite, or Trump. Cruz is now unabashedly in the Hillary-Lite camp.

“Can people sue colleges and universities, because they went there for an education and instead got an indoctrination?”

Your question is not phrased in a way that makes Trump look good.

But the short answer is: yes. Especially if they claim to be a university and are not.

You’re correct. I was trying to point out how non-existent the arguments against Trump University. He’s being sued by students who gave the school high marks, which is bizarre.

“He’s being sued by students who gave the school high marks, which is bizarre.”

Not really when you consider the concept of buyer's remorse.

Let me give examples. Trump once gave George Bush high marks. Now he doesn't.

Trump once gave Secretary Clinton high marks. Now he doesn't.

Trump once gave President Obama high marks. Now he doesn't.

Trump once gave Ted Cruz high marks. Now he doesn't.

If Trump gets elected president, conservatives that vote for him are going to have extreme buyer's remorse.

I get what you said about "buyer's remorse". That's why if you fill in a survey, NEVER give a score that's too near perfect.

I don't see how they have a gripe unless they were taught something that was untrue.
