MIAMI Sen. Bernie Sanders pulled off a narrow upset in the Michigan primary Tuesday, buoying his challenge to Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton and giving him bragging rights to a big, diverse state outside his previous areas of strength.
Sanderss come-from-behind victory was fueled by a relentless focus on his opposition to disastrous trade deals that have battered the manufacturing sector in Michigan. He will carry the same message to Ohio, North Carolina, Illinois and Missouri next week.
Clinton, meanwhile, cruised to an expected win in the primary in Mississippi, the latest in a series of contests in Southern states where she has bested Sanders largely on the strength of her appeal to African American voters.

She leaves Michigan with more delegates than Sanders and hundreds more at the ready when needed. Yeah I’m sure she’s really “shaken”.
This year has “strangeness” written all over it.
Hillary’s health problems, blatant national security violations that could get her indicted (and with a potential for more hacker leaks), and a Democratic base that is very comfortable with Bernie means this race is not over until the fat lady sings at the convention.
Bernie is establishing his “bona fides” to be awarded the nomination if Hillary has major issues—and her slimebag super-delegate supporters have all the fidelity of bunnies in heat.
Shaken, not stirred.
Polls had her up by 22. And there were a lot of polls, too. It wasn’t just a couple of oddball outfits.
She’s a dreadfully bad candidate. Her public persona is a mean, angry scold who has contempt for everyone in the audience she’s addressing.
She also has the disadvantage of a 25 year track record of triangulation and weather-vaning on every issue under the sun.
Well, at least she's not a phony on the campaign trail. She does claim to be transparent.
It’s Barack Obama who should be “shaken”. This is not so much an embrace of the socialist, it’s the rejection of establishment liberalism. Democratic party is no more.
Some legacy.
Listening to the MSM this morning whistle past the graveyard glossing over Hitlery’s terrible performance in Michigan and, at the same time, trying to minimize the Trump results ih Mi, Miss and Hi.
Here comes the indictment! Wonder if that will wake up establishment democRATs? Doubtful....
I’m wondering if Romney’s rant might have also had an impact on how dems voted. Romney reminded everyone, across the political spectrum, just how disgusting and disdainful the puppetmasters have become.
“She leaves Michigan with more delegates than Sanders”
Huh?
Sanders won 65 delegates and she won 58.
The biggest takeaway is that Michigan will be in play if Hillary is the nominee. She supported NAFTA and TPP.
I think the reference included Michigan’s “superdelegates” which are all Hillary’s (for the time being).
Shows how weak she is for the General. Trump will make mincemeat out of her.
Pray America wakes
So transparent you can see right through her.
the hidden nugget: Americans no like “free trade” deals. After thirty years their patience with them has absolutely run out, and this is becoming a dominant political issue.
She might be ahead on delegates, but if she’s losing states like Michigan & shows she can’t carry key states to win the general ....ruh roh for her - the closer she is to indictment, IMO. She truly is ‘running’ for her life. I’ll bet she is “shaken” this morning (polling was way off, too), but not as much as her campaign staff will be after she gets through chewing them out.
There is no way the Democrats will actually nominate Bernie Sanders short of him winning the nomination straight out. And they will do everything in their power to stop that too. If Hillary can't run (indicted, health), the Dems will find some way to nominate someone else.
IIRC, from when she ran against Obama, those super-delegates can switch. They aren’t bound the way the state delegates are. I think they switched on her last time from her to Obama. I’m open to correction on that...it’s a vague memory.
If Hillary loses the popular vote but gets the nomination handed to her by “super delegates” there will be riots at the Dem convention and the Bernie supporters will likely stay home on election day.
This is the most desirable outcome for the Dem primary.
