National Poll: Donald Trump Remains Frontrunner, Would Lose Big Head-To Head With Ted Cruz

Trump leads poll with a disparate group campaigning. When head to head with Cruz or Rubio, he loses.

"An ABC News/Washington Post poll shows Donald Trump leading the race to become the Republican nominee for President of the United States. However, if the field were to consolidate, the billionaire businessman would no longer be favored in a head-to-head situation, according to the survey...]

[Cruz easily defeats Trump head-to-head 54-41 percent. non-Cruz or Trump supporters prefer Cruz to Trump 72-17 percent.

Among “very conservative voters,” Cruz takes down Trump 60-34 percent. Among white evangelicals, Cruz handles Trump 64-31 percent.

Rubio also defeats Trump, but by smaller margins, 51-45 percent. Non-Rubio or Trump voters favor Rubio 69-23 percent. He, like Cruz, is favored by approximately 60% of women in a head-to-head with Trump.

“Cruz has yet to be vetted.”

Trump has, and he’s a Democrat.

Nope.

Not according to the polls.

But you can keep believing that if it gives you something to fight and argue over.

I voted for every Republican pres candidate from Reagan till now. I will not vote for Cruz, period. If H1B spent the last 25 years replacing our military instead of IT with foreigners getting paid less than Americans would you still be supporting Cruz?

The uniparty can go to hell, it’s Trump or I stay home or I vote to expidite America’s destruction.

Cruz still can’t get mainstream voters to back him.

He hasn’t won a single Southern state and the terrain looks far more forbidding up north.

You can’t win with niche voters alone. Boobio has the opposite problem: he attracts upscale, moderate voters.

But there are pitifully few of them outside places like the Washington suburbs, NY’s East side, the Hamptons and Beverly Hills.

Cruz still has yet to get one Senator, or get enough support to defund PP. But I’m sure everyone will fall at his feet once he is prez..

It’s not believable. Other people may want to believe it, but they are lying to themselves.

Well, I guess the debate is over.

You posted a made-up poster you found on the internet.

Or made yourself.

Sort of like the way people do over climate change, or evolution, or mass shootings, or whatever...

I think that is a VERY powerful way of presenting your position.

[Not really.]

The point of polls is that they give public sentiment of a point in time. In this case, that point in time is before the dems work overtime to define a guy most voters don’t know much about.

I do not believe national polls yet. Those polls are fashioned to shape opinion, not a reflection of a reality not yet decided.

Even if a poll is pro Trump or pro Beast, I do not believe them.

Just today I saw another article that stated Trump would destroy the Beast. I will wait until the primaries are over. Even then, no matter who the GOP candidate is, it will be that Hillary beats her competitor and you damn well know it. LOL

For all those that say Trump is the only one that can win...or that Trump is killing everyone else.

Information for discussion.

I came to a similar theory while looking over "complete" data polling questions and when I mentioned it, the responses weren't leaning towards "discussion". LOL

It is pretty interesting when you look at the percentage numbers to questions like these:

If it's a contest between Trump/Cruz....who would you vote for?

If it's a contest between Trump/Rubio...who would you vote for?

Even more interesting are the polls that ask who your SECOND choice would be if your candidate falls out or who you would NEVER vote for if your candidate drops out.

"...it’s Trump or I stay home..."

Mmm'kay.

Serious people on this board, I can tell. Deep thinkers.

He might have beaten Trump if it started as a two man race

The states in the mid-west and NE are more likely to go trump

Wow, from a 34% to 25% lead to a 41% to 54% deficit?

Did Trump seriously want to get this down to a 2 man race with Cruz?

This gives a whole new meaning to Trump's Cap.

You have chosen to not read the polls.

Cruz v. Trump = Cruz wins...BIG!

This is a poll designed to affect public opinion not to reflect. It has the establishments fingerprints all over it.

Good point, ground_fog.
Another reason this election is so important (aside from Hillary potentially installing 4 SCOTUS judges) is she will open the floodgates of illegal immigration.
She will give MILLIONS of people a pathway towards voting...especially for the "give me free stuff" party here in our beloved country.
If that happens, the notion of being Republican/Conservative (not that they're the same...) is completely toast.
