In the wake of Super Tuesday and Saturdays contests, Donald Trump, Ted Cruz and Marco Rubios national numbers have remained relatively stable, though Cruz has moved into second place heading into a very significant period of the primary season. These results are according to the latest from the NBC News| SurveyMonkey Weekly Election Tracking Poll of 21,996 adults aged 18 and over including 19,051 who say they are registered to vote.
Though 2012 Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney publicly called on conservative voters to buck the current GOP front-runner, new national numbers indicate that more Republican and Republican-leaning voters than ever think Trump will win the GOP nomination. In the first week of the NBC News|SurveyMonkey Election tracking poll in late December, just half of Republican and Republican-leaning voters thought Trump would be the eventual nominee. In our latest week of polling, a full three-quarters now say they think he will win the nomination.
Over the past week, several prominent members of the GOP establishment community as well as other Republican candidates in the race have argued that many in the party have a very unfavorable view of Trump. While it is clear that Trump is viewed unfavorably by a large portion of the party elite, the more important question is what the rank and file think. We empirically analyzed this by asking respondents how they view the top three candidates in our poll.
Among all Republican and Republican-leaning voters nationally, the favorability ratings of the current three front-runnersTrump, Cruz and Rubioare all above 50 percent. Rubio is viewed favorably by 62 percent of Republican and Republican-leaning voters; Cruz and Trump are tied with a 58 percent favorability rating.

Second place is first loser
That’s all good from where I sit.
Let’s play a little more nicely over on this anti-establishment side.
Trump or Cruz will win without further hard feelings at FR.
Good.
We win.
The Establishment Loses.
We have to keep each other as friends so that we can join together to support our (probably Trump) candidate. So help your guy: don’t alienate Cruzers.
It also means that one candidate’s chance to win is as good as the other.
So the Washington Post poll earlier which showed Cruz in a more positive light. Well that one is garbage. But this MSNBC poll? Now we’re talking about a real poll. LOL
Exactly.
It is time for FR to heal.
Our first goal was to keep the GOP-e out of the Presidential running and it looks like we have succeeded.
Now the next goal needs to be to defeat the Obama/Clinton Machine.
If Cruz wins the establishment wins. I’ll have hard feelings if our country is again given back to these traitors.
If Cruz wins, conservatives win.
Did you miss all the stories about the GOP sending cash to Cruz once it looked like he could win, of Cruz and Romney teaming up to stop Trump?
Listen to the first sentence in Lou Dobb's opening tonight. Though he does hammer Trump for the rest of it but none as damning as his first couple of sentences on Cruz
DITTO
The Republican establishment is now spending millions and millions of dollars to try and stop Trump who is their number one enemy to their amnesty and open borders policy.
THEY ARE SPENDING HUGE AMOUNTS OF MONEY to stop Trump so that their dreams of amnesty and an endless spigot cheap labor comes true... by fooling others to vote “anybody but Trump” to drive to a corrupt brokered convention or hurt Trump because they will support Hillary in order to achieve their agenda.
Trump is a billionaire, but the enemies of Democracy are spending huge amounts now to stop Trump while Trump spends far less and is largely using rallies to get his message out to the people.
Today I sent $100 to Trump immediately to help counter this attack on Trump and the forces both purposeful and selfish is the attempt to continue open borders and this cultural genocide of America.
I pledge my vote to Donald Trump here in California and will do my part to the very end to support Trump. God Bless Donald Trump, Make America Great Again
But but but HOW can THIS be? The B S Wapo talked to 1000 adults and says Trump is only up 10? Maybe the Monkey poll should have stopped polling after the first 1k instead of talking to 19k respondents. Oh and those “favorability” ratings as well :-)
Cruz is the establishment
He does play a good “anti-establishment” shtick though
And America loses
No border, No USA
Cruz wants the border open to pay back his cheap labor express donors
remember Cruz has bosses to report to
Rubio is viewed the most favorably but he is third and can’t win anywhere.
So much for favorability.
online polling? really?
Agreed. I’m really sick of someone swooping into one of these thread with a pronouncement like “Cruz will win Mississippi”. Since none of us are equipped with the ability to see the future, why not either discuss the pros and cons of the issues, trends, our preferred candidate’s strengths, etc. instead of just making juvenile statements.
