Sure he saw what the attacks on Trump are like and probably has some problems he would like not to surface.

Polls showed Trump beating Hillary in NY State in a 3-way race.
Bloomberg discovered he couldn’t run without taking NYC Dem votes from Hillary .... he splits the liberals in many places.

I think he came to the realization that running for president isn’t so easy, even if you do have billions in the bank. There is no way he would have resonated like Trump.

I always said he wouldn’t. Too bad, it would have opened the door for a right-of-center candidate.

"Yes. Hello? Hi Loretta. Yes I can hear you fine now. What's that? Not going to indicte Hillary at all? What are all the FBI agents doing then? Oh. Oh I see. All a sham, huh? I see. OK. Hmmmm.....Well, that changes things. I guess I won't run after all, and I'll get back to what my purpose on this earth is for. Thanks for the call. Bye bye."

GOOD.
Now if he’d try breathing water, preferably from the east river, the world would improve.

“I have known Mr. Trump casually for many years, and we have always been on friendly terms. I even agreed to appear on The Apprentice — twice. But he has run the most divisive and demagogic presidential campaign I can remember, preying on peoples prejudices and fears. Abraham Lincoln, the father of the Republican Party, appealed to our better angels. Trump appeals to our worst impulses.”
Another endorsement for Trump.

Internal polling outside NYC apparently didn’t give the former Mayor much encouragement.
Perhaps there are more people who prefer the option of buying 32 oz fountain drinks than who would vote for Bloomberg for president.
