Trump doing better in "open" primaries; Cruz sees success in GOP-only contests
FoxNews ^ | March 7, 2016 | Judson Berger

A pattern is starting to emerge that holds both promise and peril for Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump:

Trump does better in “open” primary contests where members of either party can vote, while Texas Sen. Ted Cruz tends to do better in "closed" contests limited only to registered Republicans.

Exactly. And the vast majority of those crossovers will pull the D lever in the general. These shenanigans are what got us McCain and Romney, unless one believes these people truly like Trump and aren’t voting for him because the polls show him to be the only candidate that Hillary can beat. .

I never said anything, nor suggested, that Trump is popular because he’s a moderate. In fact he’s much to the right of all of the candidates on immigration which I view as the most important issue. Reagan had crossover appeal, does that mean he was a moderate?

Trump has a following among Reagan democrats because many of them realize what we know, that career politicians have screwed this country up six ways to Sunday.

Indeed and I know many people who are non party and want or have voted for Trump.
We cannot win with just republicans. PA, AZ, CO, FL, VA are their for the taking , unless the GOP screws this up and Cruz has not done very good, only winning two primary states ,.His own and OK which is not good.

Which means half of Trump supporters will go back and vote for Hillary.

What is so disturbing is it seems most of America is willing to keep on the path to destruction. The only chance we have is to destroy the communists Democrats and the GOPe. And the power structure is so huge that Trump may not make it. So, to hell with making Americas great again. Go for it and get another 4 years of crap. Wish you luck.

Only hope, Trump for President.

but it’s not because I know many who are non party voting for Trump as they are fed up.

Cruz never got one county in your state of VA which is not a good sign.

Well, you might have a point, if it weren’t for the fact that, where there’s any evidence at all of “crossover” voting, it appears that Democrats are simply BECOMING REPUBLICANS.

Liberals are in their own ideological fight. Most of you people spouting this baseless Operation Chaos/Open Primaries theory don’t seem to understand the process. In most places, you can’t vote in both primaries. I think the insistence that Trump is winning because of disruption votes from Dems is wishful thinking on the part of Cruz supporters; Trump has shown he’s capable of winning elections where only registered Republicans can vote.

Not true. I know plenty of non party voters who want Trump and have no desire to vote for Clinton.

It is a false narrative put out there by some who just hate Trump for one reason or another.

The more obvious conclusion is that Cruz does better in caucuses and Trump does better in elections. All but two of Cruz’ wins have been caucuses, and all but two of Trump’s wins have been elections.

Again I will say it to you to.
I know plenty of non party voters who want Trump and have no desire to vote for Clinton.

Why this crap is put out there is just to fool the stupid into thinking what was put out.

It is not true and you know it.

Also notice that there have been 906 delegates up for grabs so far this election season.

None of the media are reporting out ALL of those delegates?

Who won them?

Rubio won Puerto Rico, and suddenly jumped about 29 points, when only 23 were awarded.

A false narrative by those that think that you have to be ‘moderate’ to attract crossovers. Reagan was the king of the crossover vote yet nobody would suggest that he was a moderate.

My gosh. He won two primaries. Let’s crown him now and get it over with. Let’s see him crash and burn with Hillary.

Regular people who like Trump don’t have time to ride their fat retired boomer asses to the VFW to sit on mobility scooters for seven hours of cuckusing.

strange bed fellows.
Establishment, Cruz , media, are all gunning for Trump.

I guarantee that Cruz will be next if they take out Trump.

So where are those delegates then?

Reagan was that rare combination of principled conservatism coupled with the ability to persuade and communicate to a broad spectrum of people (some call it charisma).

We don’t have that in a single candidate this time around.
