In interviews conducted Thursday and Friday, Trump held a solid lead with 39% support compared to 22% for Cruz, 17% for Kasich, and 14% for Rubio. The race was much tighter in Saturday and Sunday interviews at 32% for Trump, 26% for Kasich, 25% for Cruz, and 12% for Rubio.
Trump did much more poorly over the weekend than he did Thursday and Friday. If that continues through today, the Michigan race may end up very tight.
Fox destroyed him at the dabate
Go GOPe! You won again
almost 6% MOE. Not that it’s wrong, but not as much confidence in it as a 3% MOE.
Looks like Cruz is picking up voters from Rubio. Which tells me I’m probably still backing the best candidate.
Republicans have a chance to nominate someone who is a fighter and who can score a couple of big conservative victories (after quite a long spell of no victories). If he delivers on one goal, it will be more than the GOP has delivered in the last 15 (or even 30?) years.
It’s up to them. Odds are, Hillary will win big in 2016 and 2020, especially if the GOP runs a conventional candidate running a conventional campaign,
Seriously doubt Kasich is at 21%. This is a 2-man race and everyone knows it by now. It will be very close between Trump and Cruz.
Ping
Michigan is an open primary and Trump will pick up a lot of blue collar voters.
Trump destroys himself. He doesn’t need any help.
Then ripoff industries from Military Contractors with overpriced obsolete weapons systems, to ‘health insurance gravy train ‘deals’ with Uncle Sam to Pharmaceutical Companies who pay off Congressmen to keep out competition? Money's on the table...
Yep, that whole bunch is chipping in to fight Trump too.
It's a wonder he has any voters...
As a side note to this thread, please consider the following.
In order to avoid being stressed out of our wits by presidential election year propaganda, the states need to amend the Constitution to give themselves the power to recall corrupt lawmakers, presidents and justices. The Founding States gave the power to police federal government to the federal government. But that predictably hasnt worked.
It is very normal for polls to tighten on the day of the election.
Kasich has been bullish on MI for a while - I don't know if his internals were telling him something that wasn't showing up in the top line numbers, or if he just figures since he is from Ohio he had a chance.
And Kasich will pick up a lot of Democrats and independents.
I would love nothing MORE than cruz to win, but Rubio and Kasich are in it till the end because they’re pieces of ####
in winner take all, trump will clean up.
never saw such a fake narcissistic childish petulant baby gain so much momentum so fast.
except for maybe Obama :)
ya dont say
3 out of the last five poll released have Kasich at 20% or better. One has him at 33% and in first place. I doubt he wins, but it appears he is going to do well tomorrow and 2nd place would not surprise me.
3% change with a 5% MOE and a 6 point lead. Looks pretty normal to me. It’s a 7 point lead over Cruz. An earlier poll had Kasich winning.
So, if you go from that poll, Trump has had an “amazing surge.”
Trump is up by about 20% in the polling averages. My best estimate is that Trump wins by about 10 overall in Michigan, 15 in Mississippi and probably loses Idaho and Hawaii to Cruz. Idaho chock full of Mormoms and Hawaii is a caucus.
Trump will win Florida, North Carolina and Illinois on March 15th. Ohio will be dicey but there’s a reason why Kasich is still in this. Missouri should be friendly to Cruz as Santorum won it in 2012.
Cruz’s number are inflated by 100 delegates due to his win in home state Texas. If you were to remove Texas from both Trump and Cruz, Trump is up about 350-200 over Canuck Ted. The problem going forward is for Trump to get to 1200 or whatever he needs. Neither Cruz or Rubio can get there and they know it. So the Cruz supporters need to ask themselves who Cruz is really aligned with. We know who Rubio is..and it’s the same people that Ted is aligned with. I’m really very pissed at Trump for the past week. He’s let the media, Romney, Cruz and Rubio drive the narrative. I’m hoping Trump knows what he’s doing. He’s had the answers so far, so I’m willing to bet that he still does.
