Trump finished very close to where he was projected to finish in all four elections. The reason he underperformed, winning just two of the four states up for grabs, is because Ted Cruz overperformed dramatically. And the reason Cruz overperformed is starkly clear in Cohns graph, namely, a broad chunk of Rubios support collapsed out from under him and shifted to Cruz. According to Alexis Levinson, Rubio banked 20.1 percent of the early vote in Louisiana but just 9.4 percent(!) of the ballots cast yesterday.
Check WaPos early vote/election day comparison map of Louisiana and youll see Rubios early strength vanish before your very eyes, replaced by a late surge for Cruz. When the first returns in Louisiana were reported last night, showing Trump up more than 20 points based on early voting, the networks promptly called the state for him and pronounced it another demonstration of his power in the south. And then, for the next two hours, everyone watched as Cruz surged closer and closer at one point coming within three points, leading data nerds on Twitter to howl that the networks should un-call the race. Trump held on to win by less than four points, in a state where RCPs final poll average had him ahead by nearly 16.
Rubio, meanwhile, finished at a dismal 11.2 percent. That was symptomatic of a national trend yesterday, with Cruz doing better than expected and Rubio doing worse. Obviously, some significant number of pro-Rubio conservatives decided to vote strategically and support Cruz instead.

Rush finally gets it?
“Maybe he can get a job at Trumps hotel in Florida.”
Cabana boy/gigolo.
“this pledge he asked for at a recent rally. What the hell was that?”
What the hell was that? It was. . . a JOKE. :)
The union guys know that trump will keep the illegals from taking away decent paying jobs that their guys have and illegals get less than half. In Lee county alone the illegals were getting about 8 bucks an hour for shoddy, terrible construction of roofs, etc which decent workmen got around 20. These buildings have huge problems, and the builders did not care. One of the reasons why big business does not want Trump is their hiring of illegals will be curtailed, their bottom line profit will be diminished. They are worse than the end enemy.
A Cuban-American actor, Steven Bauer, was interviewed on FBN today. He’s for Trump. He said all the Cuban-Americans he knows also are for Trump.
I have to add that Im just hearing about this pledge he asked for at a recent rally.
***************
Somewhere along in his rallies he’ll ask everyone to raise their right hand
and say they pledge to vote/support Trump. Just part of his spill.
The recorded caller is the GOP sheriff of Pasco county. And I supported this schmuck with campaign contributions and I just signed a mailed re-election petition to get him on the ballot.
Locally, state-wide, nationally......all the sausages are getting smoked out, aren't they !!!
Leni
My work once brought me along side a Union Organizer so I got a first hand look at their operations as they sought to Unionize a company...it failed and the company moved it's business overnight out of state..... Bottom line is Unions really could care less about the employee's....Also they only seek higher wages to make their cut larger. Unions are corrupt in every sense of the word....Trump knows this as he's certainly done his share in their similar field of interest....cash flow.
Your best bet it to do your own research on what Unions and states they’re from....perhaps Trump will release that information.... Same as with right to work states and not.
At any rate Unions are never a good thing be they for or against you. Corrupt through and through and Trump knows that all to well, he’s worked with, through and around them including pay offs and the like........remember you have to be “flexible”...to make a deal.
Well if Trump losses FL and OH particularly if he loses one to Rubio and the other to Kasich, the fustercluck that has been the last few months will probably go on all the way to the convention, because at that point BOTH will stick around... at least through late August, and the odds of an uncontested primary drop significantly.
If he loses 1 of them its means we remain in at least a 3 way race until 4/26 I would guess, short of some back door deals.
If Rubio takes FL and Kasich takes OH, what’s the establishment to do?? Rubio won’t play as well up in the rust belt as Kasich and Kasich may not play as well as rubio out west?
I wouldn’t bet on that scenario, but what if?
Yes, their current brand is doing so well...
A lot of posters seem to be fond of the word butt lately. Not sure what that’s about. Don’t get your Mr Haney reference and don’t care to. So that was a waste of time.
The local radio guy on 540am in Orlando does a weekly call in voting segment and Cruz tops Trump in quite a few. I’ll bet you didn’t know one person that voted for obama either. You should get out more.
I am really surprised Rubio did not drop out before being rejected by Florida. That will pretty much do in his political career in Florida.
Ted does not hide the fact that he is a globalist, abet socially conservative which is why GOPe hates him.
My crystal ball concurs.
You don’t have to tell me about unions, fifty years ago my Dad was a steelworker, and that union was the worst. It is no wonder that the Germans got a great percentage of the steel business, the unions made it happen by asking for too much too many times. That is why the steel contracts went to Germany and others.
Yes, and I have two friends who have been having to train their replacements....who are from other countries. I am a retired person, and these are friends who are younger than me and are about to retire. They are upset that they are training folks from other countries instead of Americans.
