It would be good if Trump and Putin get along.

It beats having them launch ICBM’s against one another.

My late father once quoted Sir Winston Churchill who many years ago said, “It’s better to jaw jaw jaw than war war war.”

Thanks for bringing a worthwhile plea for civility to this thread, AB.

It has been getting downright heated on some of the other threads as emotions and tempers flare (some I believe deliberately stoked by trolls). Most of us here are really on the same side, but just see the solution to our nightmarish national dilemma differently. We all feel strongly about what is happening to our country. We really should stop eating each other and save our deadly ammunition for the real enemies of America. They are the ones who deserve our scorn and disgust and not our own friends and potential allies.

Post 283 this thread:

You aren't SANE... You and other religion biggots are the name callers.... I lost a cousin who was gay...because of his religious parents hated him when he came out. I don't need people like you. I'll let GOD judge me...i don't need judgement from you!! Small government conservatives are going for Trump...

Post 264 this thread:

I have gay friends who are parents...if you like Homosexuals then I hope your kids or grandkids wont be...Im open minded, I lost a cousin because his parents (my aunt and uncle) kicked him out because he was gay...that was 1996, and he was 17. He hung himself because his parents were a**holes. I never talk to them since...

Post 258 this thread:

Excuse me, but please, I am getting sick of you so called conservatives. .to me a conservative is for SMALL GOVERNMENT and not be dictating what is going on in the BEDROOMS OF CONSENTING ADULTS!!!

Post 227 this thread:

Sorry, unless you are HIM, let GOD judge gays. This is why gay businessmen do not like Republicans. They (Gays) are not what a single issue voters, gays I know are parents and they want a future for their kids and grandkids. Gay businessmen HATES the Democrats because they are tax and spend Marxists.

Post 210 this thread:

A 100% Conservative is a big government person...I’m not and never been a religious conservative...I am pro life, I wouldn’t vote against a person who supports gay rights (it doesn’t affect my life nor my finances), I want federal government made smaller and more STATES RIGHTS. I’m a fiscal, small government conservative.

Post 190 this thread:

Excuse me, my office is located in a historic cigar factory where my landlord, a successful businessman, owns it. He is a gay conservative. He wants a flat tax, he hates common core, he wants to eliminate Energy, the EPA, Education and Transportation departments. Gays can be conservative and he is married with kids.

From the "Rush Limbaugh Show" thread March 4 post #135:

You're a moron.

Rodguy is not a moron.

Minnesota uses paper ballots, which are hand counted, for caucuses.

Minnesota is corrupt right up to its eyeballs.

From the MN Sec of State website:

Who can participate in a caucus?

To participate, you must be eligible to vote in the November general election and live in the precinct. You also must generally agree with the principles of the political party hosting the caucus.

An OPEN caucus?

Gimme a break.

Yes, The GOP has long been a laughable, clueless, incompetent minority party in Minnesota.

This is because, by and large, the population of Minnesota is Scandahoovian liberal socialists : the Democrat party's official name is "Democrat-Farm-Labor" or "DFL" for short. (This acronym can be used with other amusing words to describe them, for example beginning with "Dumb" and ending with "Liberals"...)

Minnesota was the only state to vote for Mondale over Reagan in 1984.

Minnesota elected ex-wrestler Jesse "The Body" Ventura to Governor.

It elected Al Franken and yet you still hear liberals rail against Reagan as "an actor". Frankel covers this by saying he went to Harvard. His major? Political Science.

Minnesota was one of the states targeted in Soros' "Secretary of State" project and had the scandal of *hundreds* of votes being found in the trunk of a car, and "allowed*.

But the point is, the primary results cannot have been the result of computer fraud, since the computers were not used in counting the votes.

Recently, I have had to turn off Rush’s show for an hour or so....couldn’t take it any longer. Especially when he was praising Rubio a few weeks ago.

First time I turned off his show in 24 years.

I doubt that a brokered convention run by the GOPe would allow either one of them to get the nomination.

There would be a riot.

Glenn Beck is on ABC right now, holding up Nazi material and directly accusing Trump of being another Hitler.

THAT is what Ted Cruz supporters are praising. SHAME

No, but many of those voting may well have been RATs. (Operation Chaos)

i don't think so. When you entered the polling place, the requirement is that you should have voted in the last election as a Republican (those people had their names on a list) or you could sign in ("what the firm intent") to vote GOP in the coming election.

My own caucus, in the Minneapolis metro area, had five different people speak up. Four of the five had canned Rubio speeches. Mostly how he lived the American dream and he is "polite" and "a nice person" ...playing to Minnesota nice. These were all middle-aged people. One young man stood up and spoke awkwardly for Trump.

The final vote was something like 65 Rubio, 55 Cruz, 15 Trump, 10 Kasich.

Minnesota is lily-white and liberal: they honestly think that "Build the Wall" is the next thing to a hate crime. And they are all too ready to vote for cabana boy to demonstrate their commitment to tolerance.

CHUCK TODD: You told Matt Lauer, my colleague on Friday, that you would not be a candidate for president. But let me ask you the way General Sherman was once asked, "If nominated, will you accept the nomination?" If your name is placed in the nomination, and was elected at this Cleveland convention, would you accept it?

MITT ROMNEY: You know, I can't imagine anything like that happening. And I don't think anyone in our party should say, "Oh no, even if the people in the party wanted me to be the president I would say no to it." No one's going to say that. But I can tell you this, I'm not a candidate, I'm not going to be a candidate, I'm going to be endorsing one of the people who's running for president.

And one of the people, I can guarantee you this, one of the people running for president, one of the four, is going to be the Republican party nominee. Three of the four are people I would endorse. But I'm not running and I'm not going to be running.

Biden’s ‘I’m not running’ speech was the most “I’ll be ready if you need me” speech anyone has ever given. Agreed he’d be more dangerous than any others, but the anti-establishment sentiment won’t wear well on him, either.

“Romney says he would write in someone before voting for Trump. That’s a slap in the face to all the folks here who held their nose in 2012 to try and defeat Obama “

That’s a very good point. I did.

And international leaders are joining in the anti-Trump attacks. They realize that Trump is a threat to the European political establishment that has allowed their countries to be destroyed by multiculturalism and open borders.

German minister calls Trump a threat, Merkel lauds Clinton

Whether Donald Trump, Marine le Pen or Geert Wilders - all these right-wing populists are not only a threat to peace and social cohesion, but also to economic development," Gabriel told Welt am Sonntag newspaper in an interview published on Sunday.

Gabriel said that Trump and French National Front leader Le Pen were promising voters "a way back into a fairytale world" in which economic activity only happened within national borders but that history had shown such isolated economies had no prospect.

"We have to make the effort to explain how we want to shape globalization in a fair way," Gabriel said.
