In the Kansas Republican caucus, very early returns have Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas in the lead. With 3 percent of the results in, Cruz has 53 percent of the vote, followed by Donald Trump with 21 percent, John Kasich with 15 percent, and Marco Rubio with 10 percent. The Kansas Republican Party released a statement earlier Saturday, saying turnout across the state was "incredible," with some locations reporting "four of five" times the number of voters who came out in 2012. Republicans are also caucusing today in Kentucky and Maine, and holding a primary in Louisiana.
Crus won the CPAC straw poll. No surprise.

I waited 3.5 hours in Wichita to cast my vote for Cruz. Judging by the number of stickers and talking to people, it seemed as if Cruz was winning big.
If he gets 50% WOWZER!!! He can then take away Trump’s main point. That Trump is getting the highest percentages everywhere and he’s winning.
Cruz can then show he can get 50% of the vote.
Polls change, I get that.
But those who say that Cruz can’t win and only Trump can ignore the fact that as of right now the polls say the exact opposite.
Since those same people use poll numbers to prove their point that Trump will win the nomination in a tsunami, it seems worth pointing out that both their assertions (i.e. Trump is sweeping the nomination AND Trump is the only one who can win in the general) are not supported by the polls.
If your messaging lives by the polls, it dies by the polls.
A big Cruz negative for Dem voters is his role in W’s election in 2000.

Trump bringing millions of new voters into the party is good news for whomever becomes the nominee.

All the Trump supporters were saying Trump was going to sweep after NH primary.
Cruz is coming on strong.
The GOP caucus closed at 2pm. They are not early. They have been closed for 2 hours.
It is confusing because the Dem caucus is tonight and it closes at 8pm.

TRUMP was a no show. All that was left was CRUZ, RUBIO, and KASICH. No surprise.

I imagine small rural area results are coming in first?

Obviously they are not final. That is why we are all here waiting and reporting the percentages.
They wanted a government of men, not factions. There is one man running, and two factions with their candidates.
Not really, if Trump is not the nominee, they will end up voting for Hillary.
These people will not vote for Cruz.
Some people like Cruz, but most people don’t. Kansas is a caucus, which usually hurts Trump. Also, Kansas typically goes to the more religious candidate.
