In the Kansas Republican caucus, very early returns have Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas in the lead. With 3 percent of the results in, Cruz has 53 percent of the vote, followed by Donald Trump with 21 percent, John Kasich with 15 percent, and Marco Rubio with 10 percent. The Kansas Republican Party released a statement earlier Saturday, saying turnout across the state was "incredible," with some locations reporting "four of five" times the number of voters who came out in 2012. Republicans are also caucusing today in Kentucky and Maine, and holding a primary in Louisiana.
This is what happens when:
1) It’s a Republican-only State (and you can’t fake-register as a Republican at the last moment),
and,
2)It’s a caucus, so people have to justify their votes in front of their neighbors.
Under these circumstances, too many Trumpsters are either disallowed or are too ashamed to show themselves.

Think you’re going to win in November without crossovers?
I looked it up. 2012 had a huge turnout and there were just under 30,000 votes cast. So the percentage is about right. 2008 was around 19,000 votes total, I think.
It looks like it will be an impressive victory for Ted. About half as dominant as Santorum’s victory there in 2012, and Huckabee’s victory there in 2008, but impressive nonetheless.
Most everyone we saw and chatted with around us for over 1 34 hrs, claimed they were "there for Cruz" and many who walked out and heard our conversation regarding Cruz, smiled and gave us all the big thumbs up!
KS is pretty darned conservative, except in the large welfare Meccas like Topeka and even the large minority area in Wichita and we elected Huckabee in '08 and Santorum in '12!
Just can't imagine a Trumpster proclaiming that they're for Ted Cruz!
In your logic then it’s just ridiculous for anyone to claim that “CRUZ WILL LOSE IN THE GENERAL ELECTION”(In all caps..).
When polls can change (which you are correct on).
I agree with you.
Would you share the polls and forecasts that said that?
not sure what you mean?
Trump supporters only hear what they want to hear.
It is looking like our similar experiences are playing out in the numbers. A poster was mad at me for saying what happened, but it was the truth. I was not exaggerating at all.
Cruz has no chance of winning the general. If it’s Cruz, we lose.
“In your logic then its just ridiculous for anyone to claim that CRUZ WILL LOSE IN THE GENERAL ELECTION(In all caps..)”
You must have the wrong person. I have never said anything about Cruz in the general election.
This caucus stuff is crap. It is staged to be exclusionary to new voters. Closed primaries are cool, but a caucus is crap.
I’ve noticed that. LOL
I disagree. The polls (which I am not a big follower of polls) say Cruz would beat Hillary but Trump would not.
12K votes have been counted
30K votes was the total in 2012.
Even assuming a 33% increase in votes to 40K this year from 2012, 12K is about 24% of the total votes.
