Typical Texan ... too much pride to admit when they are wrong.

Repeal and REPLACE...I was not wrong. There should be no “replace”.

"we must make sure no one slips through the cracks simply because they cannot afford insurance" and that "we must review basic options for Medicaid and work with states to ensure that those who want healthcare coverage can have it."

Sounds like an alternative democrat plan to ObamaCare. This plan would leave most people alone (I think) but then have the government pay for those who can't afford insurance. More socialism

Private health insurance can cover healthy people who can and should pay for their health care.

IOW if you choose not to buy health insurance because you are healthy and then you come down with a debilitating and expensive chronic illness, then you are not going to get insurance and eventually you will die in the streets?

The cause and effect of the government meddling in the free market. Goods and services become firstly too expensive to procure. Next come forced price controls that drive providers out of business and scarcity becomes the rule of the day. Only the wealthy and privileged (government elite) can afford government controlled markets for goods and services.

Time to extract the government from anything to do with the market..

Yep!

Do away with the mortgage deduction immediately! It has a very unhealthy effect on true values of residential real estate and sends the wrong message about the importance of savings.

We already do.

Nothing new there.

Our country won’t cover every one because people are different.

What works in Europe and Canada won’t work here.

This plan gets the government out. Plus he’s cutting the personal income tax. And drastically cutting corporate taxes. Cutting regulations. Cutting the EPA. Reworking the trade deals. Wants to bring back capital, bring back manufacturing, bring back jobs! Secure the borders. Deport the illegals. End anchor babies. All of that will boost the economy and save hundreds of billions. Not to mention saving our country. Again, infinitey better than anything Hillary would do.

This plan comes as no surprise to me.

I read most of it in his book, “Time To Get Tough - Making America #1 Again” published in 2011.

Cruz should read it.

TRump: I just want to say, I agree with that 100 percent, except pre-existing conditions, I would absolutely get rid of Obamacare.

The whole purpose of "Obamacare" was to force insurance companies to cover everyone and specifically to cover pre-existing conditions. But that will not work economically unless everyone in the United States is forced onto the insurance roles. So how is Trump going to make sure that people who want to buy insurance after they come down with some prohibitively expensive chronic condition can get it unless he somehow either forces everyone into the pool or gives huge subsidies to Insurance Companies?

Just askin.

Markets will always be regulated.

The only real question is what kind of regulation is proper and desirable.

I believe in just enough that’s necessary and not too much that it drives up costs and defeats the purpose of the market.

I don't have a copay, I have an ipay. $12k family deductible means I essentially pay for all my healthcare out of pocket. The first year our company was forced to comply with Obamacare my deductible more than doubled. Oh and the maximum I am allowed to save in a tax free account is $6500.

So anyone who says Obamacare helped them have stolen from me and my children.

It sounds like competition will lower costs and make more plans available.

As far as pre-existing conditions, I believe this will go to the states with the block grants. If we actually end up not letting people die in the street it sounds like people will get coverage and if they have no insurance they will still get coverage, so I don’t see coverage being denied here for pre existing conditions.

Obviously, government doesn’t create jobs. Just the opposite. Government loses jobs. The idea is to get the government the hell out of the way. Cut taxes, cut regulations, cut government. Works everytime.

There’s eleven billions in savings right there

Fools gold. every politician claims that they can reduce waste, fraud and abuse. It is a glittering generality.

If people are healthy, insurance companies would compete to insure them.

If they aren’t, you either create a risk pool for them or have the government take care of this segment through expanded Medicaid/Medicare.

And the insurance companies would be happy with it because they aren’t forced to pay for some sick guy. They’re in business to make a profit.

There’s nothing in there about covering pre-existing conditions

Last week it was the most important feature of his health care plan.

Someone must have told genius that it doesn't work without the mandate.
