Well, I can't blame Trump supporters. Winning a war of words against an enemy can be intoxicating. Trump is brash and in your face, does not care what people think. Trump supporters are able to release pent up emotion by proxy. I can see the draw.
And yes, the eligibility of the Cruz campaign has been settled. However, recall that Trump is the one who brought up the question. Why?, I'm glad you asked...because Cruz was a threat to Trump.

How else does a man like Trump find something to bring down an opponent that the conservative voters he needs will conceivably fall for? Bring up a doubt, make it ok for people who once supported Cruz, to question Cruz, and thus, follow trump He had to make people feel righteous about turning their backs on Cruz.

Well....Cruz was a Canadian.
Actually you are wrong. His parents had to register his birth for his claim to be recognized. The process to register births abroad are on the DoS website. I had to register my kids birth and my Mom had to register mine.
It was thrown out due to faulty service of papers, not on the merits.
He was a Canadian citizen until he was 43 years.
