Donald Trump calls the Iraq War a lie-fueled fiasco, admires Vladimir Putin and says he would be a "neutral" arbiter between Israel and the Palestinians. When it comes to America’s global role he asks, “Why are we always at the forefront of everything?"
Even more than his economic positions, Trump's foreign policy views challenge GOP orthodoxy in fundamental ways. But while parts of the party establishment are resigning themselves or even backing Trump's runaway train, one group is bitterly digging in against him: the hawkish foreign policy elites known as neoconservatives.
In interviews with POLITICO, leading neocons — people who promoted the Iraq war, detest Putin and consider Israel's security non-negotiable — said Trump would be a disaster for U.S. foreign policy and vowed never to support him. So deep is their revulsion that several even say they could vote for Hillary Clinton over Trump in November.
“Hillary is the lesser evil, by a large margin,” said Eliot Cohen, a founder of the Project for a New American Century, a neocon think tank which promoted a muscular U.S. role in the world. Trump's election would be “an unmitigated disaster for American foreign policy," Cohen said, adding that "he has already damaged it considerably.”
Cohen said he would "strongly prefer a third party candidate" to Trump, but added: "Probably if absolutely no alternative: Hillary."

If it is Trump v. Hillary this will be an important point in suppressing her vote. Hang everything that has flowed from the “Arab Spring” around her neck and twist it hard.

The world has gone mad all of a sudden. Like a hen party but vitriolic, overwrought, panicked and desperate. They are all coming out folks. See this for what it is. An upset of the status quo led by one man.

There’s a middle ground here — Trump is not the perfect candidate and his avowed enemies are not really speaking for very many people. The best solution is either a better candidate (at least one is available) or a better Trump (his remarks after super Tuesday were encouraging although keeping alive the objection from the right that he may be a faux-con.)
The closer Trump can get to being Reagan 2.0, the better things will be. If he goes off in a Nixonian tangent or does a bait and switch routine with his voters, he will be one-term and it will do more harm than good.
For me, the issue is still open. I would rather see an imperfect Trump than a perfect but unelectable alternative. But I would also rather see Trump making efforts to understand what really motivates the political dissent, and not just appear as an opportunist hitting vague but loud themes that suggest empathy but later could be disavowed or altered to things his voters won’t want to see.
Is there ANYTHING these guys won’t declare war on?
The republican party needs be blasted into oblivion. Let a new conservative party arise from the ashes.

The main reason I am supporting Trump is he is the only one talking about how to Make America Great again.
He talks about Immigration. A big problem in Our Country, with who knows what is crossing our borders. We have witnessed murders, raptists, gang people, and Muslim infidels that walk into a place and kill 14 people in Ca. And there have been others, Fort Hood...with this on top of new diseases cropping up all over, the newest one is Zika...
Our Veterans and Wounded Warriors are not being treated with the respect and care that they should be. They are treated worse than illegal immigrants...they get nothing in the way of food stamps, housing, and if you want to call what the Vets Hospitals across America is providing for them, I would think a Veternarian would provide better care. We do not give them the respect for protecting our Freedoms that they gave up their lives for and body parts for.
Our Economy is terrible. Our manufacturing jobs are going to Foreign Countries, so we are jobless. Ford is building a plan in Mexico; Nabisco is taking their plant to Mexico; Samsonite Luggage is in Mexico; Air Conditioners are now moving to Mexico and nothing coming back in form of money, and here sits the American Worker, working at Burger King for 4 hours in the morning, Artic Circle for 4 hours in the afternoon and another job at night for a few hours if their lucky....no health care, to costly, barely making the rent payment, buying food and gas for the car.
Health Care is to expensive and climbing higher almost every month. It was a joke on the American People in the first place by your President to begin with...and we all remember Nancy’s famous words: “Oh you have to vote on it before you know what is in it”...well we know what’s in it and we don’t like it...but the Insurance Companies and the Government love it....
Our inter structure is falling apart, our roads, our bridges, our power grids are collapsing, and if you don’t believe me on that, ever went thru a brown out in the Summer?
So here are the main reasons why my support goes to Trump, he’s a business man, a very rich business man that has built his American Dream and is willing to help America get back to her American Dream so her people can have better lives since Bush, Clinton, Clinton, Bush and obuma....lets make this America Great Again!!!

It’s too bad that the neo-cons were allowed into the republican party. They are just leftists who left the democrat party when the democrats became the peace at any cost party. They retain their support for: gun-control, abortion, affirmative action, political correctness, open borders, hate-crime legislation, just about everything that conservatives are opposed to. They’ve managed to convince the sheep-like republicans that it is their duty to sent American man and now our women, off to the Middle East to die in war after war.
It’s also interesting how they are scream “racism” when Trump or anyone else suggests controlling our borders, and say a wall wouldn’t work. At the same time they think that the wall Israel built is just fine, and isn’t “racist” at all.
They should have been given the boot long ago.

I agree but in fairness, many here try to do the same to Cruz. I am a Trump (wo)man myself but will vote for Cruz in the primary.
I think all right thinking conservatives need to rid ourselves of the left and stop destroying each other.
