Media mogul Rupert Murdoch argued Wednesday that Republicans would be "mad" not to rally around Donald Trump should the businessman become the GOP presidential nominee.
Murdoch, who suggested earlier this week that Republicans should "close ranks to fight real enemy," shared a tweet Wednesday saying Trump is "reaching out to make peace" with members of the party.
"If he becomes inevitable party would be mad not to unify," Murdoch wrote.

As predicted, Trump reaching out to make peace with Republican "establishment". If he becomes inevitable party would be mad not to unify.
Murdoch is part of the problem himself.
Looks like FOXNews is losing viewership. lol
Wait, I thought we were supposed to hate Rupert.
He needs to make peace, but he also needs to put his foot down and have the establishment start acting like the loyal opposition instead of aiding and abetting the enemy.
My opinion.
“Looks like FOXNews is losing viewership. lol”
WSJ has trashed Trump for over 100 consecutive days.
I trust Rupert as much as I trust Romney.
Rupert will wait to 2024 to get his 40 million more immigrants.
He has the same concerns as Trump on many issues.
He’s right. If Hillary wins we can’t start to dismantle Obamaism even with both houses of Congress. Keep our eyes on the big picture.
Get the word out to race-baiting Cruz.
Do you think Murdoch is experiencing rating losses and is now scrambling to save Fox News?
Absolutely.
Good cop, bad cop. We’re being played. Again. Just a temporary lull between GOPe nuclear bomb assaults on Trump. Meanwhile, negative ads continue pounding Trump.
The sweet smell of desperation at FNC!
Do you think Murdoch is experiencing rating losses and is now scrambling to save Fox News?
No, the GOP went nuclear and it didn’t work. So now they change it up. They can’t do that insane hysterical level for two weeks straight before FL. They will take a break for a few days and get hysterical again end of next week, IMO.
Yep. It’s a trap. GOP will be publicly conciliatory to Trump while stabbing him in the back with a carpet bomb of millions of dollars in negative ads.
I never listened to Murdoch before, why would I start listening to him now?
Perhaps, however, I think Murdoch responds more to his bottom line. I guess we will see. Just a little strange that Ailes says Fox will no longer be supportive of Rubio and Murdoch now says this. A little strange wouldn’t you say.
We do. It’s a trap!
