Roger Stone: If Rubio Loses Florida, ‘Abundantly Clear Mitt Romney Is Waiting In The Wings’
Breitbart ^ | 03/01/16 | Dan Riehl

Posted on 03/01/2016 1:34:53 PM PST by Enlightened1

Republican campaign veteran Roger Stone tells Breitbart News Daily host Stephen K. Bannon, “I have reported, and I stand by this, that a number of the billionaires who are funding

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)
79%

have told him that he has until the Florida primary on March 15th to show some leg. If he cannot win his home state primary, it will be very hard to continue to justify his campaign. At that point, I think it is abundantly clear that Mitt Romney is waiting in the wings.”

Stone continued:

Notice how Romney is suddenly tweeting all the anti-Trump tweets? So, he’s been quiet for months and now he’s suddenly carping about Trump’s tax returns. Now he’s carping about this phony story about David Duke, who Trump has no truck with whatsoever. I think Mitt gets into those late primaries … in an effort to soak up votes. The purpose here is not to defeat Trump overall. It’s just to stall him on the first ballot.

“Here’s what they say,” said Stone, when asked to describe the reaction of powerful Republicans, “we have to stall this guy short on the first ballot. We’ve got to stall him just short of the magic numbers.”

He goes on to point out that with delegates free to vote as they want after the first ballot and the establishment picking delegates in many states, such as New York for example, Trump could conceivably lose as many as 100 votes on a second ballot, opening the door for Romney, or another challenger.

I’m absolutely astounded at how badly the GOP wants to lose. Is Trump perfect? He’ll no, he aint. That’s just a bonus in his case. His imperfections, his faults, his manner of speaking, the bluntness - all of it works in his favor.First, it makes him “one of us” - middle America- we’re not all perfect either, and he is saying the things we believe in. Second, it makes him the ‘anti-politician’ and that is EXACTLY what we want after so many traitorous acts on the part of the GOP.

If the GOP was serious about winning, they would stop this nonsense that we all know is destroying the GOP and start working to destroy the evil that is the left.

Romney sucks as much as Rubio.

Sorry but I'm not trashing Romney, nor have I ever and I'm certainly not going to trash him on this ridiculous article...........

If you want someone to hate, then focus on Hillary Clinton.........Talk about shit on the wall and falling for the crap that sticks, you're in the front row..........

Wow, the lobbyists and the K street boys must be spending many sleepless nights these days. They figured they had it sown up a year ago, either they get Clintoon or Bush. Either one and the money keeps flowing. Then it began to slip. Clintoon gets caught with her hand in the e mail printer and then low and behold the annointed one flops, big time. Then the begin to sweat and scramble....who to go to....Ah, we got it, Rubio...then he begins to sink. Now then, we got Cruz, whom we hate but can maybe deal with but how about Romnuts, a proven loser. Romnut would be better because Cruz is not predictable. Then in comes some numbers that show that even if they try a convention back room play, er, that may not work. So, what to do? Sleepless in DC.

However, if he plays nice, there might be a cabinet position in his future.

Why? Do you want a President who would give any authority to R0mney?

Hell, yes. I’d like to see him assigned to shut down any one of several useless cabinet departments. I’ve lost count on how many we have now. It is easier to list the seven or so which are somewhat useful. And seven may be an exaggeration.

Hah! And Big Government Mitt is just the man to do it.

NOT.

Well ...

We need a Department of State, a Department of War, and a Department of Justice. Beyond that ... I'm at a loss ...

There is no way for Romney to qualify for the ballot in many/most of the remaining states.

Yeah, good luck with that.
They would each get fewer votes than Kasich at this point.

It hasn’t come up before, last time there was a second ballot was before the modern system of primaries and most delegates being bound.

If no one has a majority going into the convo I assume the rules committee will be voting to clarify things. I don’t see an alternative to allowing delegates to vote as they like on ballots after the first.

FYI - remember when I posited this scam? At this point, I think they would also put Cruz as VP to sugar coat the cyanide and tape the collapsing party together for a few more months.

“Romney sucks as much as Rubio.”

He is much more sinister than Rubio. Willard promulgated and has subsidized the culture of death amongst ‘gentiles’, while simultaneously advocating for healthy lifestyles and progeny to his co-religionists. That is a stealthy and targeted genocide.

Rubio just wants to go to the rave.
