CALLER: Thanks for taking my call. Just as a... You know, you have always led us conservatives through some pretty dark times. And there were few places to turn. You never let us down. You always gave us perspective and truth. So I just kind of wanted to say that. But to get to my point, you know, last week you were discussing Trump and the way he talked about "we have to get rid of the lines around the state" during the debate. Well, I have a different take on that. Not only did he say it that way -- and you suggested it was because of his advisors that were kind of, you know, doing a tutorial for him for interstate insurance commerce.
And then also, the thing that bothers me is that when he comments regarding his and the Democrats touchback program -- which is theoretically what it is when he said we're going to do: Send them back and let the good ones back in -- you know, Trump isn't this inarticulate. I think he does it to dumb down his speech. I think he does it to mislead and not have to give explanations. And it keeps his comments kind of on the remedial side. And that's how I look at this. I know it's different from what you think, but it's how I feel. I think he's talking to a base that he doesn't have a lot of confidence in.

Agreed. I haven’t listened to him in a month, and I never plan to again. He was once the only game in town. Now, with Twitter, Drudge, FR, etc., there are so many BETTER options. He’s proven to me that he’s just another establishment shill.

People like Trump’s empty, baseless promises. He has nothing else to offer, because he has never once put his livelihood on the line for his political convictions... and yet the celebrity worshipping voters simply assume that THIS ego-driven opportunist is somehow 100 percent reliable, and that he wants exactly what they want... because he was on TV, I guess. The Cult of Personality lives on.
Because that is what is at the heart of your, and the other Putinistas, support for Trump. Trump's cozy bromance with KGB Putin will facilitate Russia's return to major superpower status. That is preciously what you and the other Putin supporters want. Basically a return of the evil empire and then-some, if you include positions in the strategic, resource-rich Middle East.

I will add however that basically all politicians speak to the lowest common denominator. Even the beloved pure conservative, watery eyed, self proclaimed “scotch man” with the all the broken corpuscles in his nose who looks ten years older than his actual age talks at a 4th grade level. ; )

But that's the point. Why should we even need to try to sway our fellow conservatives into supporting a real conservative, such as Cruz? You guys have simply drank too much of Trump's kool-aid.

Trump's success is just the latest unfortunate result of the decades-long dumbing down of America. Nothing more to it than that. Obama was a "major winner" too 7 years ago, and again 4 years later. We are fast approaching the point of no return. Hopefully there's an "antidote" for that "kool-aid" you all have been drinking.

As someone who has fought the GOPe for 25 years in Nevada, the last 6 against Harry Reid writing his only bio of corruption, I guarantee you are the loser. When you piss off someone like me, who has fought corruption far harder than you ever will, then you have become part of the problem, not the solution.
Trump is not God, while he may clean up many things he is an autocrat who will make many errors. Unlike you, I won’t be worshiping the ground he walks on like a mindless sheep.
I’ll drink some corn ethanol made by fat cat agribusiness trump cronies to that!
Of course I will be hurt, but it won’t be butt hurt. You see, I stand on principle rather than personality cult, so I will live to fight again another day with my head held up. I never was for Cruz per se, I was for constitutional principles. You on the other hand have to look forward to the day when Trump turns on conservative values, that’s when the butt hurt starts, knowing you’ve sold your soul to a guy whose principles are the soup de jour.
So none of the trump supporters could possibly understand what “touchback” or “get rid of the lines between the states” mean? Or is Trump intentionally keeping it vague? Has Trump explained to you even in elementary terms what status will be given to the “good ones” once he lets them back? If you want to know, read the “gang of eight bill”.
