Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump disavowed white nationalist and former Ku Klux Klan grand wizard David Duke in a tweet Sunday.
"As I stated at the press conference on Friday regarding David Duke- I disavow."
Earlier Sunday morning, Trump avoided a question about whether he'd condemn Duke's racism.
The GOP front-runner said on CNN's "State of the Union" he didn't know anything about Duke and would need to research his connections before deciding whether he would condemn them.
"I have to look at the group. I don't know what group you're talking about," he said. "You wouldn't want me to condemn a group that I know nothing about."
Who cares. This is just another media distraction.
Good. Done. Now when can we expect the Dems to disavow La Raza?
Compare this to Rubio condemning that gun range in Texas for banning a Muslim without bothering to learn the facts of the situation.
An emphatic disavowal if ever I heard one. </sarcasm>
Maybe Bern can denounce the communist party too...
So only pro trump articles allowed in breaking?
>>>The GOP front-runner said on CNN’s “State of the Union” he didn’t know anything about Duke and would need to research his connections before deciding whether he would condemn them. <<<
And the focus group said....
Yes! As a hate group. :)
After he refused to disavow them.... lol
You can't hold people responsible for endorsements they never sought out, unless of course they are Donald Trump.
If you seen the rally that Trump was having the other day when the kid in the ‘homemade’ KKK shirt with the same yellow star as the other lady was wearing in another rally of his, you would have seen the anger he was containing...
In fact, he made the comment: “It would be really nice if the police would do their jobs again” and I took that to mean that our Police are so afraid to do anything anymore they don’t dare to take the correct steps...that is all going to end when Trump takes office!!!
Where has the man been living to not know who David Duke is? Not to mention having to try to figure out if the group was a good group or not does the man do no research whatsoever. But then again he can’t even tell us how many years has been audited in a row he just throws random numbers each time he speaks so I guess ultimately he just refuses to be pinned down with little things like facts
Trump wouldn’t answer on the spot because he was afraid there was a hidden gotcha in there somehow.
The media’s too stupid to know the KKK was a democrat organization ... and democrats who were racist in the old South STAYED democrat... (with the exception of Maddox).
Democrat Hollings put the confederate battle flag on the South Carolina State Flag. George Wallace was a democrat. Bill Clinton’s mentor was racist stayed democrat... The KKK was a democrat organization. So was the White Citizen’s Council. And when it became politically impossible for Democrats to trash blacks with lies they switched to trashing conservative. Same tactics - different choice of victim.
Media are just slime. They ignored Obama shacking up with unrepentant murderer Bill Ayers for years. Then ask Trump about some random clowns he has no association with. Trump may have been a bit inartful with Tapper but I don’t blame him for not wanting to be dragged into the KKK tar pit.
Any answer is a future sound bite on TV. Trump just doesn’t wan to say “KKK”. Ever.
I’m still looking for the Main Stream Media and the Dems to disavow Senator Grand Kleagle.
The classic DJT is too smart for everybody argument. There are a few possibilities he did not know who David Duke was which if truth is a lot about his basic knowledge of the political world. He did know but didn’t want to offend anyone who falls David Duke unlikely I admit but still a possibility. And lastly he just won’t ever say anything that is firm and concrete as he blusters his way through as if no one will ever look up what you said before in at everything he says is always right and always will be. And sadly for many supporters of his that’s just the way they seem to work whenever he says the intrepid mean exactly what they wanted to mean the obvious implications of the statement are no consequences only how they feel about it.
