Oh, I will probably stir the Trump people early but here goes!

I don’t like McConnell any more than any of you, but he is likely right here. What has Trump’s “overwhelming victories” looked like? No more than 35% of the vote in any of the primaries! And this was with Dem and Ind crossovers! 65% of the votes was anti Trump. If we could coalesce around one candidate we would kick Trumps butt all the way back to New York. But Republicans are hopelessly divided and Trump might very well win with 35% of the vote. Goldwater did it in 1964 and McGovern did it in 1972 and both got their tails handed to them. Unless your man can truly broaden his support we are going to hand Hillary the election.

Your logic of coalescing around one candidate to kick Trump’s butt’ could also be extended to Trump taking out Rubio and Cruz in the next round of upcoming primaries, too couldn’t it?

Or is that just ‘wrong’ and against the grain, against ‘conservatism’, against whatever because it’s Trump?

What you are really saying is that if all the Cruzers and Rubots (and McConnell’s ‘establishment’)don’t get their way, they’re not gonna go vote, particularly not for Trump, aren’t you?

Just what in the heck do you think will happen if the GOPe steals a majority voted candidate’s nomination out from under him? You wanna hear about down-ticket trouble from me or millions of other pissed off voters out there? Sow the wind, reap the whirlwind.

The difference between your argument and mine is that I’d vote for Cruz if he honestly beats Trump. I’m betting the other side won’t do the same for Trump.

However, if it was Cruz or Rubio with Trump’s numbers, you would be crowing about the forthcoming landslide.

And who, exactly, would THAT be?

Cruz the Bible-thumper is out. His Elmer Gantry act won’t play well across America, nor his cheating or the fact that he was born in Canada.

Rubio - Really? Stand him up next to Hillary or Bernie and he’ll be exposed for what he is - an 11th grade self-important pretty boy, running for student council.

Kasich - His “gosh, I’m just one of you” routine gets old quick when you realize he’s sitting on 10 million dollars and been a political insider forever. Besides, no one can even remember his name, and half of those who remember it can’t pronounce it.

Carson - Nice guys finish last. Ben has fewer qualifications to be President than Admiral Stockdale. Americans have been dumbed down, but not to the extent where they’ll vote some random guy off the street into the highest office in the land.

Trump, on the other hand, DOES pull people in from the center and left, as well as disaffected voters who have seen the dirtbags in Washington feed off their supposed “public service” for decade after decade, making promises on both sides that are never, ever, kept.

But that’s not my point. Which of the other candidates has a prayer of actually winning the general election? I sure don’t see any.

35% with a field of 17 is overwhelming. He won every county in SC. Every single one.

You really want Rubio? He’s the only other option. He’ll pass amnesty for sure. The country will be toast.

Once again it’s the elites saying “Join us or you’ll help the democrats win”.

Add up Trump and Cruz’s numbers and Rubio gets less that 25%. Add up Trump and Rubio’s numbers and Cruz gets less than 25%. So, don’t give me this crap about 65% of the people not voting for Trump.

So, all of you sore losers can take your ball and go home if you don’t want to vote for Trump in the general. And all of us sore losers will do the same thing if Trump doesn’t win the nomination.

What is your point? Trump won the first couple primaries which means that all the other candidates got less votes than Trump. Do you think we should get someone who got less votes so they could get beaten worse? Should the republicans just give up now? I think you are wrong. I do not think Clinton can beat Trump. Neither Obama nor the Clintons have ever faced a republican who actually fought back.
