El Chapo Will Accept Extradition to US If He Goes to Medium Security Prison, Lawyer Says

Guzman’s attorney says the drug lord will plead guilty once he arrives if his lawyer can negotiate a “reasonable sentence” in addition to the medium security detention.

The attorney, Jose Refugio Rodriguez, said he discussed the idea with the kingpin during a meeting on February 15. He said Guzman asked him to get in touch with a U.S. lawyer to discuss the process.

Guzman, the purported leader of the Sinaloa cartel, has broken out of Mexican maximum-security prisons two times. He slipped out of the Altiplano prison in July through a mile-long tunnel dug under the prison, but was recaptured in January.

Since then, he has been subjected to “physical and mental torture,” according to another attorney.

“He told me, literally, ‘Every two hours, at night, they wake me up to take roll. … They are turning me into a zombie. They do not let me sleep. All I want is just for them to let me sleep,’ ” attorney Juan Pablo Badillo said.

This would be ok, but his conjugal visits must be only with Sean Penn.

Medium security inmates are fairly peaceable inmates that generally wont hurt you, if you mind yourself.

He’s scared of going to a maximum security and meeting rival gang members that he may have played a hand in putting them in prison.

Why would the head of the Sinaloa Cartel be okay with US extradition at this point in time?

Cuz the Obama Admin has a secret, “laissez faire for intel” bargain with them.

And Chicago is Sinaloa territory.

This is the same kind of game Pablo Escobar-Gaviria played, only he built his own prison.

I know i’m being quaint, but has he ever been convicted of any violation of US law? What is the legal concept used here to imprison someone on a foreign conviction?
I realize the government essentially does what it pleases, I was just curious of the figleaf.

“And Chicago is Sinaloa territory.”

If that is the case then Obama and the Democrats must want a cut or larger share of the drug cartel’s revenues.

Exactly my thought. Let him experience the blood brothers of gang members he killed.

He must think that medium security prisons in the U.S. don’t have special housing units where you’re locked in a cell for 23 out of 24 hours a day.
