We cannot let Donald Trump be our nominee without releasing his Tax Returns. If there is a "bombshell" in there, it needs to come out now.
If not, a Democrat bureaucrat in the IRS will leak them (just like with Mitt Campaign). A "bombshell" post nomination = President Hillary Clinton.
Trump supporters and everyone else should demand this transparency from a possible president...there's too much at stake.
Am I reading this right? Are you saying that members who have a different preference for a candidate aren't allowed to defend them here? Can you expound on your meaning? I could be misinterpreting your post.
Shir, it's Cruz!
Your board, your rules. I get it. Can you direct me to where these rules are posted? I haven't seen them yet although I come here on a semi-regular basis. I'll admit that there are pages I don't usually visit, so maybe the rules are posted on one of them?
Any freshman Senator running for President is definitely a longshot bid. I’ve been with Cruz at least since the Obamacare filibuster and when I met him at a speech two years ago, told him he’d be my candidate if he decided to run for President, but I never thought he’d have an easy path to the nomination. No doubt he would learn from a failed campaign and be a better candidate next time.
This splitting of the conservative base between Trump and Cruz is an ugly situation for the conservative anti-establishment movement. The party has always had the Rockefeller/Goldwater split but this is exposing the much less talked about split among conservatives which could be described as the “Mark Levin/Michael Savage” split. Those two have hated each other for years and Ted Cruz and Donald Trump seem to line up ideologically and stylistically with those two.
About the donors, this speech by Cruz calling them out is still one of my favorites.

Ted Cruz: “Republican donors actively despise our base, actively despise the men and women who showed up and voted you and me into office.”
This website is pro America. That’s the only rule you need to know.
Still too vague. What constitutes "pro America"? Who defines that term? Is this post because dschapin is un-American or because he/she might not back the official FR candidate?
I always vote and I always vote Republican. I voted for Romney over Obama and we haven’t had a worse Republican nominee than him. If there’s ever a more conservative third party who can poll within say 10% of the Rs or Ds, maybe I’ll vote for them, but that’s not in the cards now. Lesser of two evils is still the rule to follow.
The primary is where we have to fight the Republicans we don’t like, but we can’t do it in the general. Even each Bush gave us at least one solid conservative SCOTUS justice, more than Dukakis, Gore or Kerry would have.
I tried hard to support the Constitution Party against Romney, but what I found out — and this is my opinion, but I think it’s right on the money — was that they don’t really try.
When they finally brought the candidate to my state, their call to us was to come to a potluck dinner.
I’m serious. It was so disappointing.
Too bad. Take it or leave it.
By the way, maybe you can figure this out without a rule book. In the coming general election, FR’s official candidate will not be named Sanders or Hillary.
Obviously I have to take it. You're the one who has all the power in this discussion.
I'm glad we had this exchange. Others will be able to follow it and understand -- although only to the degree that they're able read between the lines -- how things run here.
What is the point of this snark? You were ragging on someone for defending Rubio. Your post is a non sequitur.
When you’re in his bracket, that’s just a part of life.
Excellent post!
Gotta wonder if flfreedom was homo. I always suspected elton john’s Philadelphia Freedom was a homo anthem. Flfreedom’s username has a Philadelphia Freedom ring to it.
Sure. The Donald is making $100M / year and hasn't paid his taxes in two decades. Right! Believe that! Makes sense Trump would not want to release those non-existent returns. Hey wait.
You have a problem with the idea of private property, and that the owner of the site gets to have final editorial decision-making? There's no secret to that.
I don’t understand how that has anything to do with this.
I'd crawl on my knees (if I had any) over broken glass to vote against the godless America-hating Hillary or Sanders in the general. You would too, unless you're an idiot.
