One of the most amazing abilities Donald Trump has is being able to lie about his own record and get away with it.

Republican presidential contender Ted Cruz cross-examined 2016 rival Donald Trump on Thursday's GOP debate stage,

"True or false: you said the government should pay for everyone's health care?" Cruz asked Trump.
"That's false," Trump flatly said.
"You've never said that?" Cruz asked, seemingly surprised by the denial.
"I said it worked in a couple countries," Trump quipped.
"But you never stood on this debate stage and said, 'It worked great in Canada and Scotland, we should do it here'?" Cruz pressed.
"No, I did not," Trump replied
The fact is, as Trump told CBS' Scott Pelley in a "60 Minutes" interview, while claiming he would repeal ObamaCare and replace it with - wait for it, government-paid universal health care:
Scott Pelley: Universal health care?
Donald Trump: I am going to take care of everybody. I don't care if it costs me votes or not. Everybody's going to be taken care of much better than they're taken care of now.
Scott Pelley: The uninsured person is going to be taken care of how?
Donald Trump: They're going to be taken care of. I would make a deal with existing hospitals to take care of people. And, you know what, if this is probably--
Scott Pelley: Make a deal? Who pays for it?
Donald Trump: --the government's gonna pay for it....

During the first GOP debate, moderator Bret Baier said to Donald Trump, "15 years ago, you called yourself a liberal on health care. You were for a single-payer system, a Canadian-style system."
"As far as single payer, it works in Canada," Trump replied. "It works incredibly well in Scotland...

"As far as single payer, it works in Canada," Trump replied. "It works incredibly well in Scotland. It could have worked in a different age, which is the age you're talking about here."
Trump didn't explain what might have changed in the last 15 years that would prevent the United States from adopting Canadian-style health care.
We’re PAST THE POINT of caring about the details of Trump’s policies as they can be debated to death as to what he means.
The stakes are now MUCH BIGGER than just who runs, it is about forcing the GOPe to finally ANSWER TO US.
But obviously he cant release those tax returns. How would it look? you do pretty well if you dont pay taxes for 10 years when youre making millions and millions of dollars.-Harry Reid
He can do it tomorrow. He doesnt want to do it, because presumably heres something in there- Ted Cruz
Get ready for the Trumpys to show up and deny he said what he said, nothing he says means anything to them!!!
WOW, didn’t hear anything all day yesterday because Cruz couldn’t find his mouth...so here we are today:
During the first GOP debate, moderator Bret Baier said to Donald Trump, “15 years ago, you called yourself a liberal on health care. You were for a single-payer system, a Canadian-style system.”
WOW, 15 years ago, lets see where you even out of diapers then Cruz?
I am not. If nominated he will not beat Clinton. I don’t trust him, what his positions are, are like shifting sand. It all depends on what audience he is speaking to and what is politically expedient for him to say.
He is not this white night riding in to save the day, in my opinion he is a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
He won’t “Beat” Clinton.
He will mop the floor with her.
What might have been a good idea (I don’t think it was) isn’t always a good idea years later.
Outside of that as someone posted already: It doesn’t matter. If the GOPe/UniParty is not destroyed we lose the country. Period.
“He is not this white night riding in to save the day, in my opinion he is a wolf in sheeps clothing.”
Just by EXPOSING the GOPe he has earned WHITE KNIGHT status for most of us non-insiders. The rest is just icing on the cake.
You’re absolutely right! Especially when we listen to every rally and debate and we can SEE what a jerk the other two candidates are, and can spot their lies and twisting a mile off.
This looks like a distorted take on Trump. Trump wanting the government to assure that all can have health care is not the same as Trump wanting the government to pay for everybody’s. A mix of public and private plans is, of course, implied here. I don’t know why the calumny.

“Hi! Don’t be fooled by National Review. We’re Cucks too!”
Well, either destroyed or (my preference) led kicking and screaming back to some kind of sanity. And Trump might be the only force on the scene that can force it to happen.
Get over the tax return issue. He is under legal advisement not to release them. He will when the audit is complete...maybe...if he wants to, and at this point, I hope he doesn’t just to spite everyone who is crying about this. Screw them.
Yes, you do...you’re just being polite.
You said,....
“Get ready for the Trumpys to show up and deny he said what he said, nothing he says means anything to them!!!”
Yet let Hillary say the exact same thing and they would be screaming from the mountain tops
Let me go on the record. Single payer would be better than RobertsCare. It is so bad that there is nowhere to go but up - and that is what I take Trump to mean. But I guess if you stuff your ears with Cruzwax you can’t hear anything but his own genius and how everyone else is wrong.
Nobody’s listening to Cruz anymore
Well said.
American Thinker has joined National Review in their Trump hatred. So sad, I used to like them.
