It is one of the four main cities in the four-county Northwest Arkansas Metropolitan Statistical Area, which is ranked 109th in terms of population in the United States with 463,204 in 2010 according to the United States Census Bureau. Lots of new stuff today - glad he’s defending himself and trying to set the record straight.
Yes, and I still think he is a “tool” for collecting delegates (even though he ain’t too good at it!).
That was the idea; and it was put in place to prevent someone like Trump that the powers that be do not want to ascend to the nomination before the convention.
That is why they allowed 17 people to enter the race.
They did not foresee that Trump would be the last one standing, which will be evident in about 2 weeks’ time.
??
The 8 state hurdle will be hard to meet with many in the race. Figuring that a few will be out post March 15. I think that Trump can do it.
Trump is hitching Obama to the suit. The AG of NY didn't sue until after meeting with Obama and getting a campaign contribution from thje law firm that is suing Trump. AG is Schneiderman. Judge is hostile, should have thrown the case out on summary judgment (name the judge!!!), but judge would not throw out the case. So, Trump would rather go to trial. Civil case by a sleazebag lawfirm that does class action suits, we will win in the end, I knew somebody would use it for publicity, but can also use it turn around and show you just how dishonest these people are.
Very different patter in the rally. Trump says the worst ads against him were taken out by Kasich, he's tougher than you think.
RULE NO. 40
Nominations
(a) In making the nominations for President of the United States and Vice President of the United States and voting
thereon, the roll of the states shall be called separately in each case; provided, however, that if there is only one candidate for
nomination for Vice President of the United States who has demonstrated the support required by paragraph (b) of this rule, a
motion to nominate for such office by acclamation shall be in order and no calling of the roll with respect to such office shall be
required.
(b) Each candidate for nomination for President of the United States and Vice President of the United States shall
demonstrate the support of a majority of the delegates from each of eight (8) or more states, severally, prior to the presentation of
the name of that candidate for nomination. Notwithstanding any other provisions of these rules or any rule of the House of
Representatives, to demonstrate the support required of this paragraph a certificate evidencing the affirmative written support of
the required number of permanently seated delegates from each of the eight (8) or more states shall have been submitted to the
secretary of the convention not later than one (1) hour prior to the placing of the names of candidates for nomination pursuant to
this rule and the established order of business.
(c) The total time of the nominating speech and seconding speeches for any candidate for nomination for President of
the United States or Vice President of the United States shall not exceed fifteen (15) minutes.
(d) When at the close of a roll call any candidate for nomination for President of the United States or Vice President of
the United States has received a majority of the votes entitled to be cast in the convention, the chairman of the convention shall
announce the votes for each candidate whose name was presented in accordance with the provisions of paragraph (b) of this rule.
Before the convention adjourns sine die, the chairman of the convention shall declare the candidate nominated by the Republican
Party for President of the United States and Vice President of the United States.
(e) If no candidate shall have received such majority, the chairman of the convention shall direct the roll of the states be
called again and shall repeat the calling of the roll until a candidate shall have received a majority of the votes entitled to be cast
in the convention.
Doesn’t look like Kasich is going to be Trump’s running mate... he doesn’t forget.
A candidate doesn’t need 50% of the vote, he needs 50+% of the delegates. That’s why the winner-take-all states beginning March 15 remain very important.
Fill’em — yep!
Yes, it is good to get the information out there. Up to us to make sure that it spreads further!
I’m trying to listen to Trump. I just don’t know how his followers can stand it. Especially bad following Christie’s coherent speech.
But Trump must get 50 percent in 8 states. If he doesn’t.....I think Trump should publicly, at one of his rallies denounce this rule and make the GOP change it before the convention. Lets get the word out to the Trump people.
Thank you governor Jan Brewer. Another possible cabinet post.
That’s exactly right, split the vote in early states, so an upstart insurgent can;t get a majority in 8 states. It favors a weak insider (Jeb) and was designed to advance jeb to the nomination.
Have to hand it to him, he is taking it head on which will take the wind out of the Sails of People tying to make a big deal out of it.
He also connected the New York AG with Obama right before the AG went after him. A little backroom dealing going on.
Trump exposing the corrupt and entangled judicial system and IRS. Arms of 0bie’s army.
and BTW, this rule was re-jiggered for this election to require wins in 8 rather than the previous 5 states. This was solely to suppress any insurgent candidates — who would have thought anyone could win even a 1 or 2 states without the the GOPs money?
Just said that Chris Christie would’ve handled Little Marco’s sleazy real estate deal when he received money from a donor. I see AG in Chris’ future.
