After undercover videos released in July showed that Planned Parenthood was involved in the trafficking of aborted baby body parts, Donald Trump said he wasn't sure if the Planned Parenthood should lose all of its federal funding. He later shifted, saying: "I wouldn't do any funding as long as they are performing abortions."
Trump has stuck to that line, but he has also offered a lot of aid and comfort to Planned Parenthood by arguing it does "wonderful things." At Thursday night's debate, Trump said that "millions and millions of women cervical cancer, breast cancer are helped by Planned Parenthood." Trump did not mention the fact that community health centers could easily provide non-abortion services to those women and that Planned Parenthood has been caught falsely claiming that it performs mammograms.
Trump went on to say that he would defund Planned Parenthood "because of the abortion factor, which they say is 3 percent. I don't know what percentage it is. They say it's 3 percent." If Trump took the time to Google that statistic before repeating it on national television, he would have learned that it is wildly misleading.
Planned Parenthood commits more than 300,000 abortions per year. Abortions generate more than a third of the billion-dollar non-profit's revenue. You end up with the "three percent" figure only by treating the dispensing of birth control pills the same as the dismembering a human child.
"Practically every defender of the organization, fighting to preserve its federal funding, reverts to the 3 percent figure," Rich Lowry wrote in August. "The 3 percent figure is an artifice and a dodge, but even taking it on its own terms, it's not much of a defense. Only Planned Parenthood would think saying that they only kill babies 3 percent of the time is something to brag about."
"How much credit would we give someone for saying he only drives drunk 3 percent of the time, or only cheats on business trips 3 percent of the time, or only hits his wife during 3 percent of domestic disputes?" Lowry asked.
Perhaps we don't want to know how Donald Trump would answer those questions.
The best way to shut PP clinics down is making them comply with hospital inspection regs if you can’t out right close them. They violate so many health codes hospitals are held to.
I know of 1 dr run ear clinic/surgery center that needs to be closed due to under staffing, no anthologist, no IV hooks in bathroom, no call buttons on OR carts, 1 nurse and 1 play with your hair pea brained Barbie that does NO vitals. They’ve already killed at least 1 person...well she was just to old. The line of patients waiting the Inner Ear Perfusion 3 days of torture, were lined out the Pre/Post op door, bathrooms were dirty. They are not held to hospital standards either. In 5 hrs you see the nurse when she hooks up the IV. Then you don’t see any one else until it’s your turn. 98% of patients were Medicare age and older and you got on that OR cart just as you walked in the door, germy shoes and all. No pain meds, not even a Tylenol, no fluids, NO IV. And you can’t get the state to shut the facility down.
On another thread, a Trump supporter told me that Trump’s position not to fund the abortion part of Planned Parenthood PP) effectively meant there would be no funding of PP. This was Trump’s brilliant way of defunding PP. One might have thought his intent was to defund 97%. Turns out, he wants a 3% cut.
I guess your post is not sarcasm.
Let’s clear the air: The Weekly Standard, American Spectator, National Review, Matt Drudge, Wall St. Journal, Human Events, Rush Limbaugh, Fox News, TownHall.com, American Thinker, and FreeRepublic, are places conservatives go for information. Any one these may, or may not, provide diversity of opinion.
They are not to be confused with the New York Times, Washington Post, NewsWeek, NBC, ABC, CBS, PBS, CNN, CNBC, NPR, Los Angeles Times, etc.
The former are part of the small conservative media. The latter are part of the mainstream media (MSM).
Trump is not the MSM favorite, but that doesn’t make him conservative. So why shouldn’t conservatives criticize him for his liberal positions?
He certainly has the Cult of Personality thing going for him. How has he done that?
One explanation goes like this. Many Americans are intimidated by political correctness. For example, one might feel that you can’t use the word sodomy in a mixed group, but someone in that group can freely mention homophobia. A lot of Americans are intimidated, but many of the intimidated are not persuaded. Trump comes along and thumbs his nose at political correctness (on a few issues). The MSM jump on it - to Trump’s benefit.
McCain, Graham, Trump?, Rubio? use and fight conservatives. They each think they can max votes that way. In their hearts, they may all hate conservatives, and could be easily persuaded at some point to establish their (liberal) legacy.
There is now a huge spilt regarding the Conservative outlets ...many are no longer Conservative and their plummeting numbers are proof ... This site , Breitbart , WND ,Conservative Treehouse , and Drudge are last remaining true voices ..the rest are globalist news organs , posing as Conservative ...
That sounds very paranoid. Do you happen to wear a tin-foil hat by any chance?
Not at all ,it’s the truth ..there is now a huge rift on the right ... if you can’t see that , then there is no hope for you
