On "Morning Joe" Tuesday morning, host Mika Brzezinski threw out an interesting theory: Donald Trump and Marco Rubio are playing nice with one another â and savaging Ted Cruz â because a backroom deal has been cut between the two to form a ticket with Trump as the presidential nominee and the Florida senator as the second in command.
I don't think that deal has been cut. But Brzezinski's speculation did get me to thinking about whom Trump might pick as his vice president. (For those of you who think such speculation is premature, I say (1) it sort of is and (2) read this.)

What a great photo to caption!
“Hmmm....I’m thinkin’ about it!”
But I don’t think she’s the right choice as much as I like her.
Bear in mind, the VP doesn’t make policy or set the direction, he basically does what the President tell him to do. That’s why I like Kasich, who would bring a lot of state/federal/private executive experience, and who would bridge the gap personality-wise to many voters. He’s done a good job in Ohio and own by a landslide, and that is an important swing state.
“It’s not personal, it’s business”
He can put Sarah Palin in charge of the Dep’t of Energy and give her a big axe to start cutting out waste and dead wood!
Sarah Palin? No. Tired of TV reality garbage. Already have a tv show host for our nominee.
Political science professor forecasts Trump as general election winner
The Statesman | February 23, 2016 | Christopher Cameron
Professor Helmut Norpoth's forecast presentation took place Monday evening in the SUNY Global Center in Manhattan, which was organized by the Stony Brook Alumni Association.
Norpoth created a statistical model of presidential elections that uses a candidate's performance in their party's primary and patterns in the electoral cycle as predictors of the presidential vote in the general election.
Donald Trump has a 97 percent chance of defeating Hillary Clinton and a 99 percent chance of defeating Bernie Sanders in the general election, according to Norpoth's formula.
"The bottom line is that the primary model, using also the cyclical movement, makes it almost certain that Donald Trump will be the next president," Norpoth said, "if he's a nominee of the [Republican] party."
Norpoth's primary model works for every presidential election since 1912, with the notable exception of the 1960 election. These results give the model an accuracy of 96.1 percent.

Getting ahead of the process here. Mr. Trump needs to get through the primary and aftermath.
My fear with Mr. Trump as the GOP nominee is the general election which brings into play the Clinton opposition research goons. God only knows what skeletons are in his closet. He’s Teflon now — but Clinton Inc. plays for blood.
Dims will also get Illinois in a cake walk.
Yes Rick Scott, John Kasich, Rudy Guliani.
Not Palin. She hitched her wagon to McCain.
Ok then what about Trump/Janice Brown

Janice Rogers Brown Quotes
Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible.

Government is the only enterprise in the world which expands in size when its failures increase.

Reagan picked Bush his biggest mistake
Needs someone that will continue his agenda
We all hope its the right agenda
I dont think Trump will pick a politician for his VP
I would go with Kasich before Huckabee. And if Ohioans like Kasich, that secures Ohio.
Who likes Trump and has "gravitas"?
Giuliani has "gravitas", in spades.

I’ve been wondering how Newt would be for a VP pick
I advocated for a Trump /Cruz ticket because I thought that it would be best for the country. But after seeing Cruz up close for the last month or so, I no longer want Cruz anywhere near the ticket. Or on SCOTUS. And I see no reason to try and entice people like you by saying otherwise. Trump is racking up win after win without your support in the primaries and he'll do just fine without your support in the general.
I think there was a SMALL chance Trump might have picked Palin as his VP
If he felt her support had helped him win Iowa and if he were having trouble winning over old Tea Party supporters that he felt he needed in the general.
But, she didn’t help him win Iowa, and he is getting all the conservative support he needs without opening that can of worms.
My guess is he picks a fellow business man with high name recognition.
I was trying to think of a woman who had government experience, somebody with class, conservative, could hold their own in a debate, would be a decent president if the need arose, etc. Michelle Bachmann came to mind. The Left hates her & tried hard to beat her when she was running for office .... a lot of the Repubs hate her because she was Tea Party. Now, would she agree to running with Trump? No telling. She’s probably TOO conservative for many. There were some potential campaign ethics issues that went away when she retired. I like her better than Haley who I liked a lot when she first took office & spoke up frequently against Obama, but my enthusiasm for her has gradually drained off - her reply to the SOTUS pretty much killed off what was left.
