On "Morning Joe" Tuesday morning, host Mika Brzezinski threw out an interesting theory: Donald Trump and Marco Rubio are playing nice with one another â and savaging Ted Cruz â because a backroom deal has been cut between the two to form a ticket with Trump as the presidential nominee and the Florida senator as the second in command.
I don't think that deal has been cut. But Brzezinski's speculation did get me to thinking about whom Trump might pick as his vice president. (For those of you who think such speculation is premature, I say (1) it sort of is and (2) read this.)

I think Clinton can’t afford to say much. She has too much baggage now.
Who likes Trump and has “gravitas”?
Giuliani has “gravitas”, in spades.
Agree, Giuliani is great, but Trump’s already got NY.
Stud duck Giuliani for Attorney General. It’s going to take a solid year to clean up after Holder and Lynch but Rudy cleaned up the 5 families and only he can do it that fast.
No Cubans!
My two cents - he’ll need a Parris Island Drill Instructor, so together they can put this government back in shape; instill discipline in Congress and wipe out the enemies of our country.
Why can’t they come both from NY?
Regardless your agreeing or not, if you couldn’t understand that, then that explains the trumpbotism.
Got a sneaky feeling that within six months after the election, we won’t be able to find a single trumpbot on FR.
Technically they can. What is actually prohibited is for the electors of a state to cast both President and Vice Presidential votes for candidates in their own state. (Constitution, Article II Section 1). So two candidates from New York, say, could receive votes from electors in all of the other states but from New York electors they could only receive one. In a very close election that might make a difference, but for the most part, it'd be fine (unless you happen to be a New York elector).
Poor Sarah is probably real busy trying to coral and keep her wild hare brood out of the poky.
It doesn't mean the won't try. Long and short of it is that as a one-term congressman with possible skeletons in his closet he doesn't bring much to the ticket.
BTTT
Perfect match on every front!
Trumpbots will deserve Rubberio as VP.
lol
first of all Cruz isn’t a liar and I suspect when all the dust clears Trump will praise Cruz for a tough fought loss.
But, I agree that Trump wont choose Cruz as VP, but not for the silly reason you said. But that Cruz doesn’t bring anything to the table. Trump will win Texas anyway, and Cruz could actually hurt Trumps chances of winning New York because of his “new york” values comment a few weeks ago.
Rubio is a no go also as a VP pick, because it would make no sense for Trump to pick Mr Amnesty himself as his VP.
If Trump picks a politician it would be from a state he needs that he might not win otherwise. Walker might be a good pick, or even possibly Christie.
OMG. Is Trump eating a slice with a fork?
I know Louie. He is an honorable man. After the way Trump has acted, he wouldn’t consider.
Besides this will not any semblance of a conservative administration, it’ll be a “dealing” administration.
No it’s not. He will hold this Trump card until the convention...why tip your hand? Stupid discussion.
Katrina Pierson...just for the head explosion effect.

To support the ascendant base, he’d pick someone more conservative than himself, plus a state that would help his landslide. I think it would be someone we’d never heard of before. You heard it here, first! :)
There’s so much name-calling going on between Trump & Cruz I can’t imagine either one serving in the other’s administration. I’m a Cruz-supporter but he’d make a great A-G or federal justice. But I can’t imagine that happening now.
Republican, conservative, Christian, high name recognition, Californian, former Olympic gold medalist, Glamour magazine woman of the year(sort of), ESPN Arthur Ashe Courage Award winner...and a perfect choice for this spectacle of an election year....Caitlyn Jenner. /s
