That’s a tough one.
She was born on US soil (Youngstown, OH)
Not sure about the status of her father at the time.

“After all, at least Cruz, through his mother, was born an American citizen.”

Loud SCREEEEEEEEAM! It’s not about being a “citizen”, it’s about being a constitutional “natural born citizen”.

Ted Cruz is a natural born CUBAN citizen. He is not eligible. So is Rubio. BOTH of their fathers were Cuban citizens when they (Cruz & Rubio) were born.

I think I’ve got the perfect Veep: Trace Adkins.

He’s been on The Apprentice with Trump. He doesn’t need the money or the job (a plus this election season). He’s got the sort of voice women fall in love with. Country music fans from all over will vote for him. Generally known as a good-guy conservative down-home type. It will sell big.

Obviously, government experience doesn’t matter to Trump voters so there’s no reason to think experience in the veep will matter either. This is the perfect choice and Trump can offer him practically anything to take the job.

Effectively, the results are the same, and the 12th Amendment reiterates the original language in Article II, Section 1, which the amendment superseded. In the original Union, Virginia was the most important state, and the intent was to prevent that state from domination. Arguably, with five of the first six Presidents being natives of the Old Dominion, it was a dominant player anyway. Had Cheney remained in Texas, the Texas electors would have been required to vote for someone else as Vice President. It is not unreasonable to think New York will be a Democrat “lock” with native son Trump leading the Republican ticket. Giuliani would be a good choice for Homeland Security or Justice, given his background.

I agree. Trump is a pragmatist its going to be someone who will bring something to the ticket. Sessions would be great.

Why would he pick Cruz?

His people monitor Cruz on and off stage and his fans like here on FR.

Trump does not reward nor work with losers.

I don’t believe they can come from the same state. He’ll need a counter balance to the NE I think.

“The columnist suggests Nikki Haley, and it makes sense in may ways.”

She has dissed Trump a couple of times that I am aware of. I don’t thing it would be her.

Trump has shown himself to be a shrewd judge of character. I suspect one important criteria for the pick will be...would I hire this person?

Marco strikes me as an empty (but well tailored) suit.

One more thing is she is letting Syrians into the state. I think that discounts her.

He will pick whoever he picks. All this speculating in the press just helps them keep their bread buttered. They have been wrong about everything else in this election, and I bet they are wrong about whatever they come up with here, too.

He will not pick a loser, someone with the birth problem and people who hate him 24/7.

“I’ve been wondering how Newt would be for a VP pick”

I think Newt would be great. He would own the press.

“Possibly Jim Webb, a moderate Southern Democrat who bailed out of the Democrat Presidential race early.”

He is more Conservative than a lot of Republicans. That would blow the establishments mind. Hahaha

The columnist suggests Nikki Haley, and it makes sense in may ways.

“Judge Jeanine Pirro!”

I could get behind that in a New York second. She is good.

I like Allen West for that reason, and because he’s unafraid to speak his mind. He’s got a backbone, won’t be a pushover but will respect leadership.

He got totally screwed by yhe Dems in Florida.

No reason to choose Rubio. They have completely opposing views on immigration, and Rubio has shown he’ll plot and stab you behind your back. We can’t stand him in Florida.

I’d like Sessions for scotus.
