The Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mevlut Cavusoglu, boasted on television that Turkey could occupy Russia in seven days.

"We call on Russia, which is one of our major trading partners, to stay quiet, but we also say that our patience is limited."

"Since the crash of the Su-24 jet, Russia has taken every conceivable opportunity to undermine Turkey."

"Certainly my government behaves like a mature and experienced government, but our patience has limits."

Faced with Russian efforts, we have, no fear, no remorse. We act with moderation, to bring our relations back to normal."

However, if necessary, I assure you, we can occupy Russia in less than seven days with NATO and our regional allies," he warned.

Ok a question for all of you free traders out there here's a country with no real industrial base threatening a major power with a huge military capable industrial base. Who would win?

Why do the gloBULLists shills want to turn the USA into a huge version of Turkey? A paper tiger.

Russia could turn Istanbul & other Turkish cities into smoking, irradiated ruins in about 7 minutes.

Though not knowing Turkish, I’ll guess that the suffix “glu” in many Turkish names means “fool”.

According to Russian media, MP Vladimir Zhirinovsky proposed to crush Turkey with a nuclear missile attack, Joinfo.ua reports with the reference to Korrespondent.

“Istanbul is very easy to destroy: it takes just one nuclear bomb to throw in the Strait (Bosphorus - Ed.), and it will be washed away. It would be such a terrible flood, the water column would rise to 10-15 meters, and there would be no city with nine million people,” - said the leader of the Liberal Democrats.

According to Zhirinovsky, Turkey’s NATO allies will not intervene, “not wanting to die in a nuclear fire.”

Zhirinovsky said that at present Turkey is the number one enemy for Russia.

Not a supporter of Russia, but this made me laugh. The only thing more difficult than militarily occupying Russia is militarily occupying the US (impossible, although politically changing it appears to be possible). It is outright impossible for Turkey to militarily occupy Russia without NATO (the Russians would rather die than come under Moslem rule), and with NATO help it would still not be possible as by that time the world would be engulfed in a nuclear conflagration.

I wonder if NATO has nukes stationed in Turkey.

Nope. Taken out of Greece and Turkey after 9/11/01.

Smart move. They are probably in Aviano, IT, Ramstein AFB, or the UK.

NATO needs Turkey out and Russia in.

NATO should have been disbanded when the Warsaw Pact became inoperative. It has not had a true reason for continued existence since, and it shows...

It is also a Mid East specialty. The Turks are hateful soldiers but there aren't enough of them. They (Turks) fought with the U.N. (U.S.) in Korea. The Chinese made the mistake of attacking a Turkish position. Next attack they made sure they did not make that mistake. They hit either side of the Turks.
