It Begins Again: Now Trump Questions Rubio's Eligibility
MRCTV ^ | 22 Feb 16 | Jeff Dunetz

And so it begins (again)...

When Ben Carson got a little to close to him in the polls, Donald Trump compared him to a child molester, and when Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) began to get close to him before the Iowa caucuses, Trump, the GOP leader in the presidential race, started suggesting that Cruz was not a natural born citizen. And, now that Marco Rubio seems to have picked up some momentum with a second place finish in South Carolina, Donald Trump has started to direct his ad hominem venom at the Florida senator.

It started with a tweet the morning of the S.C. primary:

The clause was actually carefully drafted to exclude Alexander Hamilton from the office. Anyone else excluded was collateral damage.

And from a pure moral standpoint it’s repugnant.

It is also smart from a ethical standpoint. Robot Rubio is not a nbc.

The last person to have been elected President of the United States by lying about and destroying the reputation of his opponents, in just the same way as he had been elected to lower offices previously, rather than running on a positive, well-grounded platform offered to the American people, was? Barack Hussein Obama.

When he did it this way conservatives were outraged. When Trump does it ... what?

I find Trump’s tactics loathsome. Furthermore, I question the wisdom (if not the intelligence) of people who like him because he operates in this way.

If Trump becomes the nominee, this will not end well.

You are correct. Born in the country, to parents who are both citizens. The Odinga eight-year disaster should have convinced any sensible person, but here we have the GOP-e and the MSM pushing more ineligible candidates. Just chipping away at the US Constitution.

No. 310+ million people and TRUMP AND CLINTON are apparently the best we can do.

Both support Planned Parenthood.
Both think Republicans want people to “die in the street”.
Both have the same allies as Obama...(all the money Donny sent to demonrats).
Both, along with Obozo, blame Bush for everything.

If Hillary isn't in prison...she'll be in the WHITE HOUSE.

There was a controversy over that very thing when Arthur ran.

Chester A. Arthur never ran for president. He snuck in as VP under James A. Garfield, and became president when Garfield was assassinated. He did not seek re-election.

The controversy didn't really heat up until after the assassination. For this same reason, Cruz and Rubio need to be eliminated from consideration for VP also.

Hamilton would have been exempted by the same part after the first comma that exempted all the rest of the first Presidents. He would have been a citizen at the time of....

**************************************

No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.

Sorry, but you are completely wrong on this. The US government has no control over the citizenship laws of other nations. It is therefore possible to be both a natural born US citizen and meet the citizenship standards of certain other countries by birth. Also a person can be a natural born US citizen and later apply and receive citizenship in certain other countries, thus holding dual citizenship.

“It’s the doubt that counts. “

Yes, why spend money on lawyers when you get the result you are seeking without bothering going to court. Besides, knowing our “just us” system, it will take 8 years to get a ruling from these worthless turds in robes.

—Trump is correct...settle it! —

Exactly! This all started when Trump said Cruz’s position was -precarious-. Rubio and Cruz should have settled these issues long ago. The fault lies with them!

I was also taught that in school. This whole argument makes me angry. Obama had no business running and I am furious with the courts, with Hillary, with McCain, with everybody who had standing and did not take this to the mat. Pelosi signed off on this, she should have faced the music as well. The electoral college who cast their votes for Obama need answer for this treasonous unconstitutional action. We need to firmly shut the door on this nonsense, and just accept the constitutional requirements for the office. The President is the commander in chief, he can send our young soldiers into harm’s way, without the consent of anyone. We need to try to protect those young people by at least taking the constitution seriously, and taking this minimal step to ensure that the CoC does not have divided loyalties. That being said, of course, we have had some terribly irresponsible presidents, I freely acknowledge that, but that does not mean that we should throw this constitution out.

So he has citizenship (maybe) but whether being born here (as an anchor baby) gives one NBC is an open question that has not been squarely decided.

NBC is an entirely different question.

I just think someone should discover if he is a dual citizen of Cuba.

It doesn't matter. In the court of public opinion, the "anchor baby" charge is fair game to be made by an opposing candidate.

Let the People decide if they want a President born of two citizen parents (Trump), one citizen parent (Cruz), or no citizen parents (Rubio and Jindal).

The people already said No to Jindal.
