Erickson: I'm never voting for Trump
Politico ^ | February 22, 2016 | Nick Gass

Erick Erickson will no longer support Donald Trump if he is the Republican presidential nominee, the conservative pundit declared on Monday, citing in particular the Manhattan businessman's support of Planned Parenthood. "I have become convinced that Donald Trump’s pro-life conversion is a conversion of convenience," he wrote in a post on his website, The Resurgent. "Life is the foremost cause in how I vote. Therefore I will not be voting for Donald Trump at all. Ever."

It baffles me why people - including posters here - believe 1) the world cares that they’re not voting for Trump, and 2) the world is salivating to read their declarations/opusses about it.

Agree....the my way or highway attitude by these *team* members has entered bizarroland...with their "take my marbles and go elsewhere/I'll never vote for Trump" comments.

Post after post has asked "if Trump/CRuz is the nominee, will you support?". I’ve seen, overwhelmingly, Trump supporters say "Yes, we'd support CRuz, if he were the nominee". I don't see that, coming from the MAJORITY of CRuzers.

My dear Jane, you have nailed it. The fact is, it appears that overwhelming numbers of Cruz supporters have such a pathological hatred of Trump that if their candidate is NOT the nominee, they will not only stay home on election day, they will do all they can to sabotage and undermine the Trump campaign. They would rather see the White House, Senate, House AND the SCOTUS fall to the 'RATS then to see the object of their vile and bitter hatred be elected President. It is a latter day variation on the Germanic 'Gotterdammerung', if their candidate cannot prevail, then bring down everything, burn it to the ground, let our enemies prevail, and they will sit sullenly in their hovels snarling "well WE sure showed THEM didn't we?!?!".

Don't think that mentality isn't spreading daily right here on FR.

Did Erickson vote for Romney?

It would be easy to make the case that based on their entire history (not just what they said in the year before the presidential campaign) that Romney is much more of a conservative than is Trump.

I'm not a "Cruz-bot".

When the campaign began, there were five candidates who I considered to be conservative enough for me. I would gladly have voted for any of:

Perry, Walker, Jindal, Cruz, or Paul.

Now, there is only one of them left. It's that simple.

Will Eric be Endorsing Hillary before or after Bernie does?

That is the question.

Hey, if Trump can win without my vote, God bless him, and we'll see what happens.

It sure isn't the end of the world for me.

I survived two terms of a whiny narcissist with whom I agree on 0% of the issues, I can survive a whiny narcissist with whom I agree on 15% of the issues.

Good grief. It’s not like we have a lot of viable options. We finally have a candidate who can win. A candidate who won Evangicals. What more do these idiot pundits want? To lose again? The people are with him. Doesn’t that count for anything? Finally, the PEOPLE are choosing their candidate. Ericson, Beck, Megan, Levin and the rest of them will end up in the ratings abyss. Drudge rules

>>>>Cruz won’t build a wall, he’s a liar. He’s been in office for many years and the first time he started talking about it in any meaningful was after Trump blazed the trail and made it “acceptable” to say. He doesn’t forge new paths like Trump has he just follows (or maybe he’s leading from behind)<<<<

I applaud Donald Trump for deciding to make illegal immigration a major talking point during his run for office. It was a strategically brilliant move and pulverized the establishment candidates. But the idea that Ted Cruz has done or said nothing before Trump had his immigration epiphany is pure election year myth.

Did everyone sleep through Rubio’s gang of 8 debate? This article mentions several of the folks still running for office. Note the negative tone of MSNBC towards Cruz’s steadfast opposition to amnesty in 2014. — http://www.msnbc.com/msnbc/ted-cruz-immigration-swing-2016

While Trump was producing his reality TV show, Ted Cruz was one of only a few Senators fighting for Americans trying to stop the Southern invasion. — http://trailblazersblog.dallasnews.com/2013/05/sen-ted-cruzs-border-security-amendment-to-immigration-legislation-voted-down.html/

Its like Trump supporters suddenly woke up, not aware of any political activity before The Donald. From the 2012 article — “Cruz also distinguished himself from Dewhurst with his full-throated support for a border wall estimated by the Department of Homeland Security to cost $7.3 billion, or $6.5 million per mile.” — http://latino.foxnews.com/latino/politics/2012/07/18/ted-cruz-puts-dewhurst-on-defensive-in-final-debate-before-texas-primary-runoff/

From the 2012 article “Cruz supports building a wall along the entire U.S.-Mexico border.” — http://www.texastribune.org/2012/06/20/illegal-immigration-flashpoint-us-senate-race/

Trump has been flirting with running for President since 1987 - http://www.tvguide.com/news/donald-trump-presidential-campaign-timeline/ — But has he ever had a strong opinion against immigration until his speech at CPAC against amnesty in 2013? Other than campaign speeches, what has he done to stop the Southern invasion? In that same year, 2013, he spoke in support of the DREAM Act.

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/mar/15/cpac-2013-donald-trump-immigration-reform-suicide-/

I wonder if between takes on his reality TV show, Trump read this article from New Yorker in 2012 - “He (Cruz) promised to triple the size of the U.S. Border Patrol and to build a larger border wall than his opponent proposed.” -— http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2012/11/19/the-party-next-time

The idea of building a wall/securing the border has been discussed for decades, especially in border states like Texas. But let’s limit it to just what Ted Cruz has said on the issue that has been documented by the media. This is an interview from 2011 on this very issue while Cruz was campaigning in the GOP primary for Texas Senator. Its a passionate, and reasonable approach to the immigration issue. Its a good thing Trump has “evolved” on this issue in time to run for POTUS, but there are many, including Cruz, who have been in the trenches for years. — https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0h3Mu8BbjM&feature=youtu.be

Ted Cruz has been fighting for the Constitution, and against illegal invaders for a very, very long time. If you are not familiar with the Medellin v Texas case (2007), learn about it. It is Cruz at his finest. It is one of many reasons why Texans support him so much.
http://www.educationviews.org/ted-cruz-horrendous-murders/

While Trump received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Ted Cruz took on his own party, President Bush, the national media, the UN, world opinion, and won justice for two girls brutally raped and murdered by illegal immigrants. This was in 2007. What was Trump doing about illegal invaders in 2007?
http://www.ivww.fed-soc.org/multimedia/detail/scotuscast-10-11-07-featuring-ted-cruz

You may not like Cruz, and that’s fine. But he has a strong, proven record on this issue. Cruz is my first choice, but I would take Trump in a heartbeat over Rubio because illegal immigration is THE most important domestic issue the Republic faces going forward.

Another hysteric emotion base diatribe from the Conservative Pharisees Sorry was not interested when the Left tried to substitute emotion and volume for thought. Certainly am not going to buy those tactics when “Conservatives” attempt to use them.

What the h*ll you are raving about and what does this have to do with the simple question I asked you in post #112?

The question is a legitimate one for any Trump supporter to answer if they choose. I'm actually more curious than anything else because I don't see Cruz being a Supreme Count nominee or possible attorney general under Trump.

Now, during the primaries is the time to support your idea of the perfect candidate. When the final candidate is chosen, your responsibility as an American and as a patriot is to support the candidate that most closely supports the conservative and constitutional ideal.

hear, hear!
