Rick Tyler, the Senior Communications Advisor for Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), issued a public apology after spreading a false story reporting that Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) made a nasty comment to a Cruz staffer about the Bible.
"I want to apologize to Senator Marco Rubio for posting an inaccurate story about him here earlier today," Tyler wrote on Facebook after sharing the false story online. "The story misquoted a remark the Senator made to the staffer. I assumed wrongly that the story was correct."
The false report indicated that Rubio said that there were "not many answers" in the Bible -- when in fact, Rubio commented that "all the answers" were in the book of scripture.
Tyler indicated that he communicated with the Cruz staffer in the video, who explained that Rubio had made a "friendly and appropriate remark" about the Bible.
"Since the audio was unclear, I should not have assumed the story was correct," Tyler wrote. "I've deleted the post because I would not knowingly post a false story. But the fact remains that I did post it when I should have checked its accuracy first. I regret the mistake."

Look. I love Cruz. I love what he stands for.
But this has been one of the worst-run campaigns I have seen in a while.
Dude needs to get back to God.
He may have irrepairably damaged a possible SCOTUS appointment in 2017.
If Ted Cruz can’t even manage his campaign how is he going to manage a country?
Cruz has surrounded himself with sleazebags. I keep saying he is NOT the Cruz that campaigned in Texas. I wonder why Cruz supporters don’t demand he change tactics and get a cleaner bunch of staff on board!?!
How many of these missteps will it take? Cruz’s message is not going to get out if his campaign keeps him wallowing in this kind of junk.
The FIRST thing Cruz needs to do is to jettison that fruitcake Glenn Beck if for no other reason, for Beck’s behavior recently regarding the late Justice Antonin Scalia (see my tagline).
“The common point for Clinton and Cruz is Goldman Sachs. “
Kinda stupid to make that an issue when Trump has buildings on Wall Street.
If this is how Cruz picks his staff, it makes one wonder who he’s going to pick for his Cabinet. Scary.
“Well, at least itâs nice to have a candidate thatâs willing to apologize for something, as oppose to one who apologizes for nothing, not even to God.”
Oh lofty superior Christian...apologies for lying don’t mean a damn thing if the lying continues.
And it’s none of your business what goes on between and individual person and God.
Self-righteousness cannot coexist with humility.
Cruz's unbridled hubris is infectious and these types of things are coming from him indirectly, IMO.
Ok, either Cruz is orchestrating these dirty tactics, which says something about his real character or his staff is out of control which is indicative of his poor leadership ability. So be honest. Why vote for him?

Dishonest liar is the common trait among Ted, his staff and supporters.
Tyler should have vetted it before tweeting. Either underhanded or negligent.
Cruz had nothing to do with the video other than a staffer tweeting it out and then deleting the tweet.
The video belongs to these people.

“I know these types of things are not coming from Cruz himself.”
“Cruz’s unbridled hubris is infectious and these types of things are coming from him indirectly, IMO. “
Cruz indeed sets the tone for his own campaign. Cruz needs to fire Rick Tyler immediately. If not, then Cruz is giving tacit approval to all the Tyler nastiness (which started even before the “violation” mailers).
They are reaching out to the Rubio campaign in all likelihood.
Will it be Cruz/Rubio or Rubio/Cruz?
We know that Cruz first met with Trump. Then he tried to deal with Carson in a broom closet.
Now, this could be an attempt to open dialogue with Rubio.
Cruz won’t get to host “The Apprentice”, but he might just get looked at for, “Let’s Make a Deal”.
The apology only happened because the Rubio people had proof it was a lie.
Cruz is running a scummy campaign under the guise of being God’s candidate. Sickening.
” ... either Cruz is orchestrating these dirty tactics, which says something about his real character or his staff is out of control which is indicative of his poor leadership ability.”
That pretty much sums it up. I can overlook the initial malfeasance by his staff in Iowa, but this has become a disturbing pattern.

These are Cruz’s people. What a crew of charlatans
