Rick Tyler, the Senior Communications Advisor for Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), issued a public apology after spreading a false story reporting that Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) made a nasty comment to a Cruz staffer about the Bible.
"I want to apologize to Senator Marco Rubio for posting an inaccurate story about him here earlier today," Tyler wrote on Facebook after sharing the false story online. "The story misquoted a remark the Senator made to the staffer. I assumed wrongly that the story was correct."
The false report indicated that Rubio said that there were "not many answers" in the Bible -- when in fact, Rubio commented that "all the answers" were in the book of scripture.
Tyler indicated that he communicated with the Cruz staffer in the video, who explained that Rubio had made a "friendly and appropriate remark" about the Bible.
"Since the audio was unclear, I should not have assumed the story was correct," Tyler wrote. "I've deleted the post because I would not knowingly post a false story. But the fact remains that I did post it when I should have checked its accuracy first. I regret the mistake."

For sure. And somebody oughta be fired with extreme prejudice.
But in any event, I've worked in several large organizations, and I can assure you that there's usually a marked tendency for the staff to take on the characteristics of the guy at the top, for good or for ill.
Therefore, with the repeating pattern of events like this one, I'm starting to have the unsettling suspicion that with Cruz's extremely high IQ and his reputation for acting as a loner, he might just be something of a Nixon clone, sowing the seeds of his own eventual crash-and-burn saga.
There is no doubt that I have sinned and fallen short.
The problem exists because Ted has elevated himself to a higher moral level and uses that false elevation to deceive gullible people.

Cruz isn’t acting any “wayâ€. His campaign staff obviously isn’t doing very smart things, but at least they came out right away and apologized for the mistake.
Has Trump or his campaign staff come out and apologized for all the lies they are spreading? No....

Well, I seem to recall that a bunch of anti-Rubio FReepers were going gaga over the incident last night.
I can’t provide proof because the post was so bad, the mods deleted it. I didn’t think I’d need it as proof! The one poster that matches in violence has been banned. Two others were on suspension that has now been lifted So, yes, I’ve seen it from Cruz supporters. It’s no less horrid.

It is awful. It is incendiary. I’m sorry that more posts aren’t deleted from both sides. I saw a respected FReeper state that “blank” is nasty and Scalia dying was the wrong person to go. I can’t believe the stuff that I’m seeing. It WAS deleted, btw.
This has gone beyond name calling and into serious damage of one's livelihood!

What is not obvious to me is why Cruz supporters are so much more adversarial and venomous toward Trump & his supporters than visa versa. I mean, I support Trump but I think of Cruz if anything as being more in tune with Biblical Christianity than Trump. Trump can come across as pugnacious.
And yet it is the supporters of Cruz who seem to be so full of vitriol towards Trumpeters and Trumpettes. Another thing that is curious to me is Cruz himself. I never thought of him as being slimy, but the stuff his campaign has pulled has been slimy and deceptive. Maybe Cruz is not the goody two-shoes he portrays.
I don’t know, maybe it’s career politicians in general. Maybe they can’t help but become corrupt I don’t know. You know I’ve always been against term limits because it takes free choice out of the hands of the people. But maybe terms limits, which would basically at least reduce the number of career politicians, would do more good than harm.

No he has not. What he has done, is tell people he is for the Constitution. Not once, and no where, has Ted ever claimed he is above or better, or holier than, anyone.
He is a Christian, yes. And he is fallible, yes. And not once has he ever claimed otherwise. Doe she make mistakes? Yep. Has he been misled and made wrong choices because of that? Yes But he’s come out and either explained those mistakes, or explained why he changed his views on things. He’s apologized where’s he’s been wrong. He has not lied, at least that I have seen, on purpose.
But to put this onerous on him that he is responsible for every single person in his campaign and should be white as the driven snow, is not only unrealistic, it’s delusional.
I’ll go back to what I posted before though, and say Trump supporters don’t have a leg to stand on, when it comes to criticizing the faults of Cruz, when they completely ignore all the missteps, mistakes, lies, errors, fabrications and REALITY of the one they support. If you’re going to hold a standard to one, then hold it to your own first.
That’s right. Hatred for me by the Cruz supporters is unreal. The truth hurts them so badly. And, I’m not afraid of any of them because no weapon formed against me shall prosper. NONE.
