...For the last eight months, the sophisticated view of Trump and Trumpism has gone something like this: Donald Trump may be a huckster, but he has done a service to the Republican party by bringing new, nontraditional voters into the tent. He has shown his fellow candidates that they can flatly reject the demands of political correctness and need not drop into turtle-guard whenever the New York Times takes a shot at them. And while Trump the man is not presidential material, Trumpism -- that is, the collection of populist and nationalist concerns that have become wrapped up in the man's campaign -- is potentially very helpful. Over the last 16 years, the Republican party has been largely ineffectual, both in power and in opposition. It has been hostage to a donor class that is almost completely at odds with Republican voters.
Trumpism, in other words, looked like a political movement that could -- and possibly even should -- be incorporated into the GOP.
There is some truth to much of this. But it turns out that Trumpism has corrosive effects, too. Witness how it has corrupted people in its orbit...

It sounds more and more that the GOPe wants us to BAIL THEM OUT regarding the HORRENDOUS candidates they insist that we accept.
Sorry, we WILL NOT DO THAT, and supporting Trump seems to be the ONLY WAY to get their attention.
GOPe is too big to fail! Yeah right.

One of the historic truisms in the past several election cycles is the âCruz Coalitionâ, as currently assembled, is the first to stay home when their candidate doesnât win. The socially-minded voter will never vote for a populist fiscal conservative/socially moderate candidate. Cruz voters, and their advocates, are emotionally driven by social issues. Hence they yell a lot (See Mark Levin) and only respond well to others who are inside their echo-chamber.
Consequently neither Rubio nor Trump will try to gain/court Cruz voters. Why should they; the narrow-minded group will never vote for them, if they vote at all.
This ânon-votingâ truism is why the GOPe ignore the Cruz-like factions completely; because rarely will the GOPe be influenced by them. When Cruz-Clan get angry and donât get their way they donât vote.
The modern way to deal with that faction is to make them angry, and they leave. (Example: Questioning eligibility sets them off easily and they lose control. They might even invite another sketchy character, Glenn Beck, to help showcase their entrenched ideological moonbattery.) See how easy that is? More exposure to the crazy = less votes in crazy camp.
Both Trump and Rubio will most likely ignore Cruz, as neither stands to benefit much.

Seriously I’m starting to wonder if these guys don’t have a time card they have to punch with a certain number of anti-Trump articles per day. It’s ridiculous.

It’s exactly that kind of “I’m smarter than you are” elitist attitude which we’ve gotten from the Establishment that that drives Trumps appeal and steels his supporters resolve.
I’m not saying you are part of the Establishment, but you sure do speak the same language at times.

Yes.
Believe, people.
As soon as Trump is elected you will get a job, or a raise and most certainly a pony.
I am sure there is a time card involved. Sure of it.
Stop right there. That's the problem. The Trump-haters try to oversimplify Donald Trump and reduce him to being a "huckster". He's much more than that.
The true hucksters are the politicians who want to maintain the status quo for both major parties...
Cruz is the thing man’s candidate. Trump not so much. But his followers do know how to wield pitchforks.
“You back again?”
No kidding! Just wonder what GGG is going to do when Cruz folds? Well we should know within the next 30 days or so. Maybe use a Gun to spill his Guts in front of you know who!
“Cruz is the thing manâs candidate. “
Huh ????
.
This is their idea of presidential material---
Hey GGG, remember your pre-SC claims of a pending Cruz victory there?
How did that work out?
Third is not the new first. I suggest you start railing on Rubio instead of Trump. (Cart meets horse.)
Cruz is the THINKING manâs candidate. Trump not so much. But his followers do know how to wield pitchforks. (fixed it)
I notice a while back how CW always started posting about midnight and continues to dawn.
Anti Trump articles all lined up and ready to go.

More than a little irony there.
