2002 Interview Contradicts Trump on Early Opposition to Iraq War
NBC News ^ | FEB 19 2016 | ALI VITALI

Posted on 02/19/2016 9:05:37 PM PST by TBP

A 2002 interview with Howard Stern shows Trump saying that he did, in fact, support the invasion.

"Yeah, I guess so," Trump told the radio host when asked directly. "I wish the first time it was done correctly."

https://soundcloud.com/buzzfeedandrew/trump-on-the-howard-stern-show-on-sept-11-2002

The Stern interview is in direct contrast with what Trump has been saying on the campaign trail, where he's been touting his early opposition to the war as an example of his foreign policy "vision."

He didn't deny the comments. "I could have said that," Trump said, later saying that he "may have" made that statement.

So Trump LIED about his opposition to the Iraq War. One of many things.

Faced with actual audio of him supporting it, he says hs "may have", "could have." This is one of the problems with Trump.

There are several other articles supporting this story:

http://www.sfgate.com/news/article/Trump-said-he-could-have-endorsed-Iraq-invasion-6842045.php

http://hotair.com/archives/2016/02/19/trump-in-2002-i-guess-id-invade-iraq/

www.buzzfeed.com/andrewkaczynski/in-2002-donald-trump-said-he-supported-invading-iraq-on-the#.bjlgqLD5j

And tonight, Megyn Kelly played audio of Trump endorsing the war THE DAY AFTER IT STARTED.

But he was against it before it began, right? After all, he said so.

glad you posted this again. I'd almost forgotten about this little piece of BS even though it's been posted on FR twenty-five gazillions times already.

i notice you paid cruz-trolls only post stuff attacking other candidates and never post stuff about how great Cruz is. Oh, wait. There's nothing like that to post, so the whole lot of you would run out of stuff to post in about 1 minute and you get paid by the post. bummer.

I look at Trump’s enemies, AND I KNOW HE’S OVER THE TARGET. Everything they hate, I see as absolutely necessary. Haters gonna hate, it’s what they do.

How many times has this story been posted to the forum today?

Ten? More?

This reminds me of the Bush 2000 wars. The Bush team just went stark raving nuts. You could be on a totally unrelated thread to the election, be talking to someone else not even addressing Bush or the election, and people would start in on you.

That was a GOPe man. Those were GOPe tactics.

Here we are again, and it’s the same exactly tactics.

Each day Ted has GOPe more written all over him.

I’ve finally come to the place where I will never in my life cast a vote for Ted.

Donald Trump has already said that he is going to declassify the 28 pages in the 9/11 Report that detailed Saudi/Bush/Clinton involvement in the 9/11 attack. That must literally scare the crap out of the Bushes and Clintons and their confederates.

I suspect that after he finds out how Saddam Hussein was a CIA Asset, set up by the CIA, given the green light to attack Iran, and given really critical sources and methods information during that war, he is going to declassify a lot of stuff about how we have be taken over by a few families who think they should rule the world.

So to nit pick about when he found out how bad things were is, to use a Trump technical term, stupid.

So, answer the question: Are you an agent-provocateur for the establishment cabal, or do you think that Ted Cruz is Yah’s dedicated servant to restore Christian dominance in America, or are you just so blind you can not see what is going on in America, today?

Betas are scared of alphas. There is a certain male type, insecure, loner, nervous around women... You know, Cruzoids.

“I’ve finally come to the place where I will never in my life cast a vote for Ted.”

yeah, me too. I’d already decided I wouldn’t vote for Bush or Rubio, no matter what. But the more I see of Cruz and his dirty desperation tactics and his lying scumbag, paid minions at FR, the more likely I wouldn’t vote for him either. I’d just write in Trump and be done with it.

I can't speak for everyone, but I think Cruz is a good Christian man fighting the current anti-Christian movement by showing he is fearless with his faith.

I also see him as being a very consistent constitutional conservative.

Flaws, yeah he has some. I haven't seen anything in the campaign that bothers me.

Not the mailer.
Not the Carson brouhaha.
Not the adds.

I can't say the same for Trump.
The threats
The debate ducking
Using Veterans (Of which I am) to cover his mistake
The Insults
The Profanity...

But most of all, the biggest Trump turn off for me: The way his supporters attack everyone who disagrees.

Trump’s supporters wouldn’t care if he lied under oath. Why would they care if he lied about his opposition to the war?

Donald Trump is a liar and a nasty guy. He has besmirched the good name of Ben Carson when Carson was running out in front (called him a liar and a pedophile). Then he is doing the same thing to Ted Cruz.

Not only is Trump a liar. He’s bad at it. He fails to realize he has been a public figure for 30 years and leaves a long paper trail of statements that completely contradict what he is saying now.

This man is play the people like a violin and his people re eating it up.

He doesn’t want to make America great again. He wants to shake it down. He has no intention of doing anything he says. He wants the power. That’s what he is after.

GOP voters are making YUGE mistake picking this man. Not only will they be picking a deplorable man to be the nominee, they are picking a sure loser. Other than the Trump sheep that make a third of the electorate, everyone else sees through him and hates the man and would never vote for him. He will get crushed in November.

“his (Cruz) lying scumbag, paid minions at FR, the more likely I wouldn’t vote for him either”

Spoken like a true Trump person. You sound just like him. Insults, name calling, etc. I have been call some real awful thing by Trump supporters on here for supporting Ted Cruz.

You may get what you wish for, meaning Trump will be the nominee. Then you will be sorry. No way in hell will Trump win in November. Other than the one third of the electorate that are Trump sheep and parrots, no one else will vote for him. He is the most hated man in the race by the people (even more than Hillary). Her unfavorable are in the mid 50%. Trumps unfavorables are over 60%, as they should be. He is rotten to the core. He lies constantly and his sheep still follow him even though he has new nailed several times.

He praises Ben Carson now. But when Carson was in the lead he was a terrible guy, a liar, a pedophile. Now that Carson is not a factor, he’s great. When Cruz was running at 7%, Trump sang his praises. Cruz git to 20%, all the sudden he is nasty guy and a liar.

Trump is not winning on issues. He is winning by character assassination. He doesn’t want to run on the issues anymore because he has a paper trail so long the disputes his current positions. So he doesn’t want to talk about it anymore. He is playing the people. Just read what he wrote in “Art of the Deal”:

“The final key to the way I promote is bravado. I play to people’s fantasies. People may not always think big themselves, but they can still get very excited by those who do. That’s why a little hyperbole never hurts. People want to believe that something is the biggest and the greatest and the most spectacular. I call it truthful hyperbole. It’s an innocent form of exaggeration - and a very effective form of promotion.”

Yup, sound just like his campaign.

I, along with millions of other conservatives, would never cast a vote for this man.
