Ditto. He’s not a deep thinker. Cook is doing the right thing.

Trump has raised some uncomfortable issues about the line between security and freedom.

He isn’t exactly exercising the most exquisite wisdom. The answer to every disagreement can’t just be boycott. Even though yes, “conservatives” have done it as well as liberals. “Protest to Apple” would be a wiser recommendation at this point. The CIA could and would help Apple here with things like their chip dissolver. It wouldn’t have to be all Apple. Nothing is “impossible” to break — only more and more difficult.

But I can’t fault Donald for being a hypocrite here or for pushing a known untruth.

Not at all. Apple is either afraid of losing business or afraid of the enemy to the point of endangering security. Both are unacceptable for such a monopoly

Tgeyd be smart to figure out they’re going down anyway

If he’s elected he won’t ask the people to boycott Apple. He’ll just executive order an undue tax burden on Apple until they do what he wants them to do.

Cruz didn’t say to boycott Apple, but he did say that there is a court order for them to open this one phone that was used by the terrorist and he thought they should comply with that court order.

“Don’s starting to lose me.”

Yeah, I have 4 Iphones in the house. This issue only solidifies my decision to upgrade to newer Iphones when the time comes. Not sure what Trump’s thinking on this one...

What a total loser Trump is.

I was just reading on Yahoo about the now defunct Trump University ... which promised a lot and delivered little causing the people who paid big money for the courses to file a class action lawsuit.

It seems that the woman who spearheaded the lawsuit was threatened by the Trump, who denies it, of course, but it is totally in line with the other things he has done.

This is a quote from the article:

Donald Trump, embroiled in a long-running legal battle with former students of his defunct Trump University, has been accused in recently filed court papers of threatening to financially ruin the woman who is a lead plaintiff in the suit. Trump’s comments, according to the filings, came in a secret deposition he gave just two months ago, on Dec. 10 — the same day he was making international headlines over his pledge to ban Muslim immigrants from the country.

Negotiation with Cook/ Apple to break the security for that one phone.

Watch Cook offer to crack the codes for that one phone in an Apple lab with FBI agents monitoring but not getting the decipher key/code.

The feds can provide a search warrant for what is in that one phone with the above provisions of safety/concerns for Cook/Apple.

Don’s starting to lose me.

Don't jump ship just yet.

I believe Trump is saying this because he already KNOWS that Cook is going to stand his ground and go head to head with the Government.

Simply put: Trump appears to be ANTI-TERRORIST.

Cook will appear to SUPPORT TERRORISTS by standing his ground.

This happened before when everyone looked askance at what Trump said about ILLEGALS and a few days later the Kate Steinle murder occurred.

Me too and real fast......Since I already voted for him via absentee ballot, it's a non issue at this point.

Don's starting to lose me.

Yep. He's definitely on the wrong side of the issue here. The people supporting Trump aren't demanding to have their iPhones cracked open.

Sometimes Donald really needs to keep his yap shut until he's brushed up a little bit.

Yeah this is a dumb idea. He should be totally behind Apple for giving FEDGOV the finger.

But who else is there like you said down the thread?
