During Thursdayâs CNN Townhall event, when pressed by moderator Anderson Cooper on the âbenefitsâ of the ObamaCare mandate, Republican frontrunner Donald Trump said, âWell, I like the mandate.â He then went on to blast ObamaCare as a âdisasterâ and President Obama as a liar.
Trump made clear that he is not for single payer healthcare and wants to allow private insurers to compete across state lines. Trump is, however, in favor of taking care âof those who cannot take care of themselves.â We do not want âpeople dying on the streets,â Trump said.

Actually, people who drive must have car insurance.
Poor people who will be using health services must have health insurance.
No difference.
THAT’S why I asked if he was talking about USERS of health insurance or the way ‘mandate’ is used in the obamacare law.
Because I have no problem requiring insurance of USERS, but the obamacare ‘mandate’ was about charging people who don’t get insurance, iirc. Famously, John Roberts decided it was a tax.
So, should users of our highways be required to have car insurance?

We mandate that people have car insurance. Is that what is meant?Actually, that is not true.
Drivers are mandated to show "financial responsibility" if they are going to operate a vehicle on the public roads.
Insurance is just one way to do so.

It’s how he gets round-the-clock publicity. Pray that your guy catches on.
Cruz should announce that he’s shutting down all national parks if he becomes president. That’ll get attention. I’d bet money on it.

Remember: Everything before the ‘but’ or the ‘however’ must be taken with not a grain but a whole tablespoon of salt.

Same difference. It’s a mandate required for driving.

Want to talk about cutting taxes, cutting spending, cutting regulations, cutting government, cutting cronyism, cutting corruption, growing the economy, putting our people back to work, making America great again? Trump does. Actually that's all he's done, talk about it. No concrete proposals. No real plans. No solid programs. Just a lot of talk with nothing behind it. If Trumpers are tired of the same old politicians then shouldn't they also be tired, or at least a little suspicious of, the same old tire politician empty promises?

There has to be more to this quote, for earlier he said “except for abortion.”
So I am wondering about some of these authors.

Perhaps Trump should stop saying so many things that are wide open to interpretation.
You mean like this little jem I pulled out of your words in your posting history:
"randita likes to roll her poo in little balls and eat them"
See how that works? It's called taking words out of contexts and it is the lowest form of intellectual dishonest.

Not really. The only mandate is insurance for harm that one does to other drivers or their cars.
You can drive a brand new Rolls without insurance.

Vote for the most conservative 3rd party candidate. That will send a louder message. Your message will fall on deaf ears after 4+ years of Hill or Burn.
When the country is in smoldering ashes be sure to put your ear to the wind so you can hear your precious message echoing among the ruins.
