(CNN)Though Donald Trump continues to lead heading in to South Carolina's primary Saturday, a new poll suggests his support could be fading in the campaign's final days.
According to the NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Marist survey released Friday, the billionaire businessman leads the Republican race in the Palmetto State with 28% support. Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is in second at 23%.
Trump's lead is narrower than other polls of South Carolina Republicans have shown. A CNN poll of polls from Thursday had the average Trump lead over Cruz in recent polls at 16 percentage points, and a Fox News poll conducted on the same days as the NBC/WSJ/Marist poll found Trump up 13 percentage points over Cruz.
In Friday's poll, Rubio trails in third with 15%, just ahead of Jeb Bush at 13%. John Kasich and Bern Carson are tied with 9%...

I saw on Facebook that the one poll taken entirely after the debate showed Ted Cruz moving to within 5 points of the Donald.
Trump might win.....but I never believed it would be the blowout some of these silly polls are claiming. I’d say if he wins, it’s by 5 max. But my money is on Cruz by 1 to 2 percent
So if Ben’s folks can spread the rumor that Cruz is dropping out, Ben could pick up his votes.
Nice, but wait.
Ben doesn’t have any ‘folks.’
I hope it is posted many times. It makes me smile.
Just don’t bet the farm. A few bucks at most.
Cruz has THE BEST ground game. His supporters are working so hard.
I think he is fading.
Wonder how many Trump supporters here are backing off a little. I know they won’t admit it but ...
Yes, Cruz taking the gloves off was a good thing.
He’s hitting Trump hard now.
Trump fights with a bazooka but Ted slips that elegant little rapier right between Trump’s ribs.
Ouch!
Exactly. Is that 35% solid for Trump? It’s way short of 50%. Where will the rest of the field’s supporters go?
I don’t know ... they probably hate Trump but at least Rubio hates Cruz more. Trump has not called Rubio out like Ted has.
Cruz is far more electable than Donald.
All the polls show that.
But forget the polls. Maybe 20% of people nationally like Trump but the rest totally despise him.
You cannot see that through the rosy haze of adoration but out in the real world, hatred for Trump is intense.
Soon the Donald will be feeling our burn...the burn of our afterburners!
Ted Cruz 2016!
Have fun saying that today because after tomorrow you won't be able to.
I'm not just blowing to the galleries. I have relatives in Charleston and Myrtle Beach and they tell me TRUMP FEVER is running strong in SC.
Exactly why the last two days there have been numerous “proxy” NBC law suits filed.
Very little chance a single one will get beyond Standing, but the “political campaign” point was to get em filed before SC Primary to keep more of the trumpbots from opening eyes and jumping ship.
Desperate DONEald.
Trump fever means they are probably too delusional to make it to the polls. The latest poll shows Trump fading fast, and Cruz within 5pts. If that poll is even remotely accurate, Cruz takes South Carolina.
Ted Cruz 2016!
Unlike the pro-Trump polls that keep showing up here?
I’ll translate your post since you chose to not post in English.
Goebbels: “ If a big lie is told and repeated often enough, then people will believe.”
Murdoch (and his minions) is today’s Goebbels.
Cruz/Beck are kooks and despicable liars...”birds of a feather...”.
You're just another fast talking "carpetbagger"
“... WSJ cheap labor express polls ...”
OMG .. ROTFLOL
You Trump people sure are good for a laugh.
Trump and Cruz overtaken by Rubio.
No wait.. Cruz just went up on,,, wait.. no.. it's Trump up on.. no wait again.. Hillary is now out polling everyone.
Why don't you poll maniacs take a break. Tomorrow will be the real deal and it sure looks like Trump has a solid lead in the POLLS.
Let's wait and see if it turns out that way without all the phony drama and cheerleading.
The home crowd roots for the home team to help the home team win. There is nothing phony about it.
