Pat Buchanan: Donald Trump’s Rise Is Rejection of a Quarter Century of Bush Republicanism
www.breitbart.com ^ | February 18, 2016 | Julia Hahn

In an exclusive statement to Breitbart News, Pat Buchanan declared that Trump's rise represents a rejection of 25 years of Bush Republicanism - an ideology which Buchanan says has destroyed America's once-great manufacturing core, flooded the country with low-skilled workers, and drained the treasury with ill-advised foreign adventures in the Middle East.

"In the GOP nomination race, the chickens of a quarter century of Bush Republicanism have come home to roost," Buchanan told Breitbart. "Trump's triumphs to date are due to his recognition of, and identification with, the Middle American revolt against Bush family ideology and policy, and what it has produced."

Thanks for the link to the article. It really is an interesting analysis that is prescient. I don’t agree with the spin placed on the Samuel Francis article, but it demonstrates how a nationalist candidate can resonate with the American people to the surprise and shock of the political elites.

I agree with everything that you have stated in this post, and I have stated before that GWB’s legacy is BHO. And that BHO’s legacy is ISIS.

It is wonderful to see this decades old, long standing corrupt political system disintegrating right before our eyes. This corrupted system hates working Americans. It rewards illegals and those who bring them into America to freeload off the American workers slaving in the faux conservative plantation.

For those of us over 50, we remember what it was like to have a truly great leader in the White House.

For those under 50 on this board...you have been cheated, for the last 28 years, you have witnessed “Conservatism Lite.” As you can imagine, it is never as good as the real thing.

Reagan was elected by the grassroots of the Republican Party, a beneficiary of an earlier movement led by Phyllis Schlafley, who wrote “A Choice Not an Echo”, which she sold over 3 million copies out of her garage, 1964!

The book was about fighting the corrupt Republican establishment “kingmakers” who had ignored the grassroots for years. Goldwater lost that election but we got our reward in Ronald Reagan.

A wonderful video is available here Phyllis speaks at 5:40 to 15:42 Totally worth your time to watch! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1q_pbiFiKC8

Pat Buchanan’s frustration with the Bush family was echoed by many “Reaganites”. The grassroots and Reagan himself, did not like the Bushes, but we got stuck with Bush Sr. as a marriage of convenience in 1980. The Reaganites were luke warm on George Bush, who with his New World Order Speech set up what eventually became to be known as the Bush Doctrine which has been destroying the Republican Party for years.

As a result of the one term election of Bush Sr in 1988, then the subsequent 2 elections of his son, George “W”, the Republican Party “Establishment” results in the Bushes having tremendous the Republican National Committee and all of its appointees and patronage job.

Vice President George Bush, seeking to establish his position as front-runner for the 1988 Republican presidential nomination, Tuesday named a 456-member ``winning team`` to help GOP candidates in 1986.

The steering committee, a Who`s Who of moderate and establishment Republicans from across the nation, is formally working for Bush`s political action committee, the Fund for the American Future.

“President-elect George W. Bush has picked Virginia Gov. James S. Gilmore, a tough-minded, tax-cutting conservative with a talent for raising money, to become the chairman of the Republican National Committee, according to party sources” The announcement will be made today in Austin, Texas, sources in Richmond said. Gilmore’s selection must be ratified by the RNC next month.

Not only has the Bush team developed an integrated campaign strategy among these three organizations that is highly sophisticated, it appears to have been able to staff it almost entirely from existing relationships within the RNC and Republican establishment

You are so right about W. I too admired him, worked for him and went to rallies in 2004. When I saw him speaking against Mr Trump and attempting to prop up his brother, it opened my eyes. Holy cow.

Trump was for the Bush family before he was against them. He's like his pal Hillary. He likes to be on both sides of an issue depending only on what's best for him as an opportunist. See the link.

Hillary Clinton is securely on the road to coronation as the Democrat nominee has overwhelming support from the Democrat political class.

Bernie appears to be the new Obama.....the millennials and the 60’s socialists love the guy. I see Hitlery as a 2 time loser

Agree 100%. That anyone, anyone thought America needs another Bush in the White House is an insult to the American electorate.

And either Jeb or Ted will continue the Bush policies. Don’t believe Ted’s mid-campaign flip/flop away from his earlier globalist positions.

Look at the accumulated debt chart since Reagan. It is a linear increase through each Bush 41, Clinton, Bush 43, Obama.

Pat is correct.
